What is Dianetics and how does it work?

Have you ever heard the phrase "get sick with the mind"? For this is precisely what happens when the mind acts negatively in the body. In the 1950s, the enlightened science fiction writer and pseudo-philosopher L. Ron Hubbard began the study known as Dianetics .

Next we will know better what this science or alternative therapy is, as you want to call it, since, although it has a large number of detractors, there are also many others who defend it. For our part it seems interesting that you know it and can draw your own opinion and conclusion. We start

What you should know about dianetics

Through his research, Hubbard discovered and documented what he says is the root of all irrational fears, nightmares, insecurities and, above all, psychosomatic diseases of being human: the reactive .

Reactive mind

One of his most outstanding works, Dian tica: The power of thought on the body, described this part of the mind, in addition to detailing a simple technology, functional and easy learning with which you can overcome the reactive mind, achieving a state of Clear, or what is the same, mental cleansing .

It is this technology that he calls Dianetics. This theory is one of the beliefs professed by the members of Scientology, a kind of business-religion. However, the accredited scientific community considers dianetics a false science (pseudoscience).

The term comes from the Greek roots of the day which means through In this way, Dianetics is defined as “ what the soul does to the body ”.

This conception is closely related to the somatization of diseases . That is, when the mind acts so negatively that it is capable of converting mental states into physical symptoms, but they have the same devastating effect as the actual disease.

How does it work

Hubbard writes in his work that the unconscious mind is responsible for the creation of an underworld in which man can be immersed . The reactive mind, which is the channel of this state of unconsciousness, can store or record mental images called "engrams."

These images are created and produced by the mind while the subject is in a state of unconsciousness, whether due to a brain injury, the application of anesthesia during surgery, the delirium of a disease or sleep.

At this time, the conscious mind is disconnected from the body, totally or partially, so that it gives way for the reactive to take action in the same measure of unconsciousness, creating engrams that later translate into morbid fears, unwanted emotions such as anxiety, and psychosomatic diseases.

In view of these ravages caused by vulnerability to these engrams designed in phases of unconsciousness, Hubbard proposes the process of Dianetics, whereby the subject begins by describing one of these mental images with great detail, until the engram is reduced.

That is, it is about reliving on the conscious plane again and again those images that produce fear or somatize the body, so that all the burden and pain produced by these unwanted mental pictures are progressively erased.

With this method it is possible to dominate the reactive mind, voluntarily disappearing the vestiges of images that produce a psychic malaise that can even become physical. This is how Dianetics works.

You may agree more or not, but while many have felt liberated thanks to this technique, others consider it to be superchery.
