Lecture given by Master Beins Dun, on August 14, 1940, in the Seven Rila lakes

Contemporary people are divided into worldly and spiritual. They are distinguished by the way of their work: the mundane people, to whom the materialists belong, move from results to laws, and from laws to principles. The religious move along the reverse path: from principles to laws, and from laws to results. When you look at the areas around the lakes, you see that they have a specific structure that no ordinary man can make. Perfect, superior beings have worked here, in front of which the most scientific people on Earth are children of the first-grade nursery. These areas are one of the most beautiful places in Rila. When you move around the lakes, study the flora and fauna of Rila, as well as the location, construction and content of the rocks and earthly layers. That man moves consciously through the mountains, this means that he feels a true, Divine joy.

When we talk about joy, we see that all people try towards it. What is this joy, what is hidden in it, they are not interested. It is important for them to rejoice. We, then, say: Seek pure Divine joy that does not contain conditions for suffering. Then there are two types of joys: human and Divine. Human joy brings in itself and joy, and sufferings, but the Divine solo only joy. In such a case, it is preferable that man accepts the suffering that brings joy, rather than the joy that brings suffering. A life with sufferings and joys is preferable than a life without sufferings, but without joys. The worldly man prefers joy in the face of suffering, but the spiritual suffering in the face of joy. The life of the worldly man begins with joy, ends with suffering; The life of the spiritual man begins with suffering, ends with joy. The Divine life begins with joy and ends with joy. This reconciles the joys with the sufferings of the ordinary man and the spiritual man, forming from them the Divine joy. In the spiritual life affliction must yield its place to joy, and in human life joy must yield its place to affliction. Only in this way affliction and joy can be reconciled and transformed into Divine joy. Only Love is able to reconcile joy with affliction.

One thing you should know: whatever you do, you cannot free yourself from suffering. All living beings suffer. The higher they are, the greater their sufferings. The sufferings exist in all worlds: in the physical, in the cordial and in the mental. When he suffers and reasonably uses his sufferings, man acquires capital with which he builds his future. In the physical world the capital of man is his acts, in the spiritual world - the feelings, and in the mental - the thoughts. In other words: the currency of the physical world is hidden in acts; The currency of the cordial world is hidden in feelings; The currency of the mental world is hidden in thoughts. If he does not act well, man deprives himself of capital in the physical world; if he does not feel well, he deprives himself of capital in the cordial world; if he doesn't think well, he deprives himself of capital in the mental world. As you know this, don't be irritated by anything. When you receive goods, rejoice; When your goods are taken away, rejoice again. Man must reach such self-control that and when he loses, and when he wins, that he keeps his inner peace. He who has self-control, values equally and good, and evil.

And so, to cope with evil and good, people have to free themselves from the illusions in life, that is, to understand them. If faced with any illusion in his life, man must know how to get out of it. In the physical world illusions are inevitable. For example, if you are in a train, a phaeton or a car, it seems to you that you are still and objects are moving. Is it really so? In this, if you move west, the objects move east. And this is an illusion. While looking at illusions as real things, man has not found the right path in life. Man must live a long time on Earth to free himself from all illusions and take the right path.

How can man live a long time on Earth? Through reincarnations. Many times man will reincarnate until he learns the lessons of life. But and this is not easy. To incarnate and come to Earth, man must compete with millions of souls. One of them will reincarnate, but before achieving this, he goes through great sufferings. When reincarnates another fight begins - for primacy. Everyone wants to be rich, strong, scientific, to occupy the first place in the world. Why do you have to be first? Can't you be last and from this position work, realize your desires? If in joy you are first, in affliction you will be last; the opposite: if in affliction you are first, in joy you will be last. These are inevitable paths in human life. How rich has not been impoverished? And how poor has not been enriched? Behold, David was a pastor and then became one of the leading kings of Israel. As king he thought he could do everything he wanted, but he saw that it was not so. For every mistake of his he should pay. In every man there is a David, a Solomon, with whom he has to act reasonably. In every man there are old prophets who must put in their places. As you know this, beware of your past in which some negative traits are hidden. For example, the present man claims against war, does not want to kill, make crimes. - Why? - Because your life is exposed to danger. Even so, the man in every moment wars with his thoughts and feelings. In this fight some of his thoughts and feelings disappear, besides the best. At the end of all he thinks he has won. The internal war in man must cease. When the internal war ceases, along with it will cease and the external one. And so, to fix them with difficulties, with misfortunes and with contradictions in his life, man needs a luminous mind, a noble heart and a healthy body.
