Live in silence

  • 2017

We live looking for peace, calm and tranquility in our lives. Many times we look for it in external things such as visiting places that give us that feeling of relaxation that we hope to find, other times we resort to practices such as prayer, yoga, meditation, etc., to reach these states. But it always happens that at the end of the day we return to our world of agitation, restlessness and restlessness. Getting material things, having more studies, more power, more relationships, is another way, not to seek that peace and tranquility but to flee from that feeling of emptiness and restlessness that It overwhelms us daily.

By filling ourselves with all these external things, we can only feel that we fail in our attempt to achieve peace, because all those things we seek outside only generate noise in our lives, preventing us from seeing what will really give us the peace of mind we expect. Some people see silence as a way of being alone, so they often avoid it.

There are those who consider silence a way of approaching themselves, what they really are and what they want to become; For some it is a way to find God; and in fact, silence is the way to enter our center, to get to know each other and reach the peace that we are looking for so much. Material things, having more partners, etc., will not allow us to find the peace and tranquility that we so long for. Being in contact with others is a way of knowing ourselves, of seeing our reflection, but it is not the way of transcending who we are.

When we share with others we see what we like and don't like about ourselves. The more something bothers us, the more we are reflecting our inner being. And when we deny all of this we are actually denying what is inside of us. When we see injury, prejudice, hate, wars and how the planet is destroyed, we are only seeing what we have inside. The outside is just a way to detect in each of us the things that are inside and that are not so obvious to us.

Enter the inner world

But after observing the outside world and seeing everything we don't like, we must enter into a process of reflection and self-observation and for this, silence is indispensable. The noise dissipates our thinking preventing a communion with ourselves; That is why we are always looking for the television and radio as our best friends, because they take us away from everything we have inside and that we may not want to see or are prepared to watch.

Silence is not outside but within us. To the extent that we become quieter in our thoughts and emotions we will express that outside. If the noise that is where we are bothers us is because that same noise exists within us, we are creators of our outer world and that creation comes from our inner world. We can't see anything outside that we don't have inside first.

To find silence we just have to spend time listening to the silence that is around us, the silence that appears amid the noise and sound. Being attentive to silence makes our thoughts calm down and that is why there is also an inner silence.

When we enter that sea of peace and tranquility that is in silence we become creators, because to create something new we must first find the void. In karate movies they represented him through a glass with cloudy liquid. The glass was filled with this liquid and the teacher places water on it, but the glass is only left with cloudy water because of the contents of the glass initially. Then the teacher drops the contents of the glass with what the student is obfuscated since he does not want to get rid of this liquid because he thinks it is a good thing; Then the teacher leaves the glass empty and then puts water in it, now the water is completely clean.

In order to reach that state of peace and serenity that many of us want, we must first clean our thoughts as the master did with the glass, the cleaner our mind is, our creations will be purer, more perfect and more full of harmony, but While our mind is full of all those gloomy thoughts, our creations can only reflect all the imperfection that we carry inside. And to get to have that purity of thought we can only do it from silence, where all possibilities are within our reach.

At first it will be difficult to enter into this silence because our mind has always had control over us and the thoughts will come in heaps making us feel that we are failing to find that silence, that peace and that tranquility we desire, but permanent awareness will cause little to Little do we understand how our mind works and learn to govern it so that it does not govern us.

How to start?

Simple exercises such as observing what we are thinking will give us awareness of how our mind works. Many times the thoughts we have are not ours, but we have adopted them from those around us. Therefore it is important to monitor what we think and be attentive to what we hear is vital to know if that thought was induced by someone else.

Break the chain of thoughts. By being aware of what we are thinking we can identify whether or not we want to have that thought. Learn to say no to thought and get it out of us so you don't continue creating what we don't want.

When our thoughts have completely overflowed and we can no longer control them because they went from being a small wave to being a tsunami, concentrating on our breathing is a good way to calm the flow of thoughts and emotions that arise at start from them.
