Because the fifth and final stage of reincarnation is known as that of old souls

After having completed the fourth stage of reincarnation, the soul has come a long way, the end of the trip, the first stage, known as the children's soul that is where he learns of the physical existence, life and death, and the need to nourish.

Those subjected to the fifth and last stage of reincarnation are known as old souls, at this stage of the evolution of the soul there is a search for equilibrium and completion. as the impulse to pass the torch before the end of reincarnation.

In the second stage, as a baby or infant soul he learns about society, culture and community, the need for a membership structure and playing a good role.

In the third stage, as a young soul he learns about free will and self-determination, taking charge of his own destiny, facing the challenge.

In the fourth stage, as a mature soul he learned about coexistence and interrelation, to assume responsibility for their relationships, in honor of difference and otherness, finally, the soul is ready for the final leg of the day: return to unity and at the end of reincarnation.

The old soul already has a well-developed sense of independence from its young soul phase and inter dependence from the mature soul phase, now the soul is also attracted to reconnect with the greater order of things, the underlying cosmic unit.

This does not mean that the overthrow of the lessons of the previous stages in favor of some pleasant, soft and fluffy notion of unity, rather means reaching an agreement with all the dualities of life in other words me and the other, love and hate, joy and pain, etc. As an integral part of the whole, in fact, the main lesson for old souls is that they have to do with the search for unity within diversity.

This return to unity does not imply the loss of individuality, as some imagine, the end of reincarnation, ascension or enlightenment does not mean the discoloration of existence, the dissolution into nothingness.

Rather, the soul completes its adventure as a unique individual, as a distinctive star in the night sky, a fully performed act.

So to begin this stage, the soul tends to focus on true self-expression and self-realization, in other words, the search for experiences and activities that provide maximum personal fulfillment within life on the physical plane.

This can be found in, for example, art, science, acting, gardening in the wine area, flying old airplanes or simply being a grandfather, the soul is not interested in success or fame as much as doing something he likes, forging honor to its true potential and the search for inner satisfaction.

Then towards the end of the stage there is more of an emphasis on teaching rather than simply learning to transmit the lessons learned to show others the way.

For some especially the old priest souls, the teaching approach is explicitly spiritual, many of the world's great spiritual masters were or are old souls like Buddha, Jesus, Ramana Maharshi, and so on.

But that does not mean that each self-proclaimed guru is an old soul, far from that there are spiritual masters at all stages of reincarnation, but the advanced old soul has certain characteristics as a spiritual master that stand out from the rest as long wisdom scope, great compassion, inner peace and little or no attachment to material things.
