The Lunar Messenger, Full Moon of Sagittarius

Signs of Transformation 17:

The Three Gunas 3 Sattva

The initial stages of the spiritual path of the Sagittarius fire sign are full of ambition. Later it becomes a fire aspiration that must be directed towards a noble objective. When the disciple commits himself to a goal and pursues it with perseverance, this brings stability and balance. Balance is a virtue of Sattva. That is why the theme of this month's Lunar Messenger is Signs of Transformation 17: The Three Gunas 3 - Sattva. ”

The Body is not a Principle

Our body is a product of nature with its three qualities of inertia, dynamism and balance, or Tamas, Rajas and Sattva. We function through this body as our working instrument. It is a set of principles of Nature and its forces, but by itself, it is not an element.

The Masters of Wisdom teach us that the physical body is neither a principle nor an essence. It has no existence of its own, but exists as a result of a balance of more subtle forces and intelligences. What we call matter is nothing but a mobile structure formed with the equilibrium state of these intelligences. Behind the structure of the matter of our physical body there are thousands of intelligences working, and our body is the form that contains all these intelligences.

The physical plane is a plane of effects and not causes, such as the shapes of clouds in the sky. We see soap bubbles floating in the air like beautiful harmonious shapes. Bubbles are nothing more than the balance of air, water and soap. There is no element that exists like the bubble, except for air, water and soap.

When we visualize the shape of our body with our mind as a balance of thousands of working forces, the doors will open between the intelligences of our body and the intelligences of the planet. These intelligences will give us the revelation of what we have to do and how to behave in life. They help us to remind ourselves when this physical body is being formed at the time of fertilization as a spark of ourselves, and to remind ourselves in the decomposition of this physical body.

Through a process called Yoga we will understand how we can live as our own seed that contains the previous history of our evolution, as well as the trends of our future germination. The chain of causes and effects does not begin with us and does not end now. We are living in the chain, and that part of the chain that is included in us and that part that includes our consciousness is called individual karma. If we behave correctly towards others and ourselves, we remain in balance and the body remains healthy.

The inequalities of past Karma manifest as the inequalities of our personality, our tendencies and our behavior. They disturb the balance of subtle tissues. When there is a balance of tissues, there is health.

The true purpose of medicine is to maintain this balance and consequently maintain health as much as the Law of Change allows. Although we constantly maintain balance for good behavior and regularity, old age and body loss are among natural phenomena.

The Masters teach us that the body by itself has no value, but when it serves as a vehicle for important things to be done with it, it has its own value, and will be maintained as long as these things have to be done.

Neutralizing Karma

During the first steps, the process of spiritual practice consists mainly in neutralizing Karma and obtaining balance. Our behavior and our responses to the environment are subject to correction until equilibrium is achieved. "Balance in food, expression and behavior" is the path of Yoga according to Bhagavad Gita.

Until Karma is neutralized, the qualities of dynamism and inertia find their equanimity in Sattva. In balance we can experience the true existence. We become an observer of the activity and realize that it is not our activity, but the activity of a higher plan working through us. They are not our activities; but they are carried out through us by Nature. When we plan something with this understanding, we act in the awareness of the connection with other beings. When we are in balance, we can help others find this balance too. Therefore we say the prayer "Loka samasta sukhino bhavantu" - May all beings on all planes be in balance.

As long as we live as individualized souls we are under the spell of the illusion of Nature. We believe that we are acting for our own plans. We cannot see through the cunning plan of Nature while we are conditioned by our impressions. We work to obtain results, for profit, for success. These objectives cause even more reasons to achieve certain results. We remain trapped in this circle of activities and we do not realize our origin: “I AM the eternal, immutable ONE. Everything inside and outside moves around me, with me as its base. I exist as I AM in everything. ”

Contemplating on Being

To obtain a stable equilibrium, the only key is to remember “THAT as I AM.” Sattva is the quality that opens the door to our true selves. Contemplating on the Self and therefore, thus linking with Him, comes the balance. In the state of equilibrium we can act and remain at the same time in inner peace, and connected with the awareness of existence. The mind departs and actions happen through us without a reason or cause.

The Self is revealed through everything that surrounds us and what is beyond the surroundings. We see through the forms and know directly the Being in the objective forms. The sound of OM helps us realize Self as the center of our own being and all beings and thus, live in balance. The Masters worship the Self as the OM; they visualize all creative activities like His work and play their part in tune with this work. The Cosmic Person is no different from the Self. Visualizing the Self in oneself and in everything is the true yoga, the union with the One.

As long as they have not stabilized in us, balance and inner peace, it is recommended that we live in a quiet place and that we stay away from densely populated, noisy places, full of commercial activity. Later, this will make no difference to us and we can remain in balance at all times and in all situations.

We leave the spell of the three qualities when we understand that there are no friends or enemies in the world, but they are only people. People remain the same but our vision changes. When we strive to build right relationships and behave friendly towards everyone, no matter how others behave towards us, we remain in balance. It is useful to see the good qualities of others as the presence of the Divine in them; This brings us closer to Being.

Reading in Balance

To remain in balance it is also useful to read the stories of the initiates, of how they reacted in events. It is recommended to read during the morning hours. It will be easier for us to maintain the balance necessary to stay on the road. If we don't have time to read for 30 minutes, we read only for 15 minutes. We must see what messages we receive, write them down and act accordingly.

We should have at least two hours for ourselves after waking up. This is possible when we wake up early enough. We should find some time to read the teachings of the Realized Beings in a state of balance and not in a hurry, such as sitting on a train. Without a minimum of balance we retain nothing of what we have read. The internal inertia does not allow us to read anything or makes us postpone it for tomorrow.

We must be vigorous enough, light a candle and incense, open the book with veneration and read slowly and carefully. When we hold the book in one hand and eat with the other, knowledge does not open to us. The right knowledge is revealed when we approach it in proper balance. It keeps us alive and strengthens the relationship with the Self. Then we can experience what the CVV Master calls "Time Expands." Staying for a while in this experience, we return renewed and with a greater balance to our daily lives.
