Karma and professions

  • 2013

Karma is an opportunity to repair what we once did against love, love for our neighbor, for the planet, for a community, for ourselves. And there are certain professions that speak clearly about this. But there are also those who create their own karma, or group, social, or regional karmas.

The people who choose to work in the area of health are usually those who come to balance past actions that were nothing loving. A doctor who is dedicated body and soul to restorative surgery - like my teacher José Luis Caboul - may be repairing the lives in which he reaped heads and limbs, causing death and desolation. However, if the surgeon's talent is used to benefit beyond the ethically acceptable karma is being created. A doctor who in this life is dedicated to neonatology can be a clear indication that in another existence he was engaged in abortions, for example. It is a matter of observing with arrest what is being done.

But karma is also created. A doctor who is engaged in the removal of organs from bodies of people who have been plagiarized - stolen, kidnapped - to sell them to the highest bidder is also acquiring a debt that he will have to pay off at some time. I leave at your discretion the validity of what they call brain death to destroy a person to remove their organs and implant them in one or more receptors.

A lawyer who makes the lie, the impersonation of evidence, and the perjury his way of facing the lawsuits is clearly creating debts that he will surely have to balance sooner rather than later.

A teacher who works with children, teaching, accompanying, guiding, protecting them, with certainty is fulfilling the commitment to pay what is owed in another life. For example, it may have been a man who stole children to sell them as slaves, or couples without children. Or it may have been a woman selling her own.

The relationship with power is one of the most powerful sources of karma . Many times people are given opportunities to find themselves in those powerful positions, so they have the opportunity to display their personal talents and gifts for the good of the community in which they operate. However, in general, human beings abuse positions of power, thereby creating a debt that they will have to come to settle in due course.

Therefore, when we are in places, situations, positions or professions that we feel are a painful burden and nothing gratifying, it is necessary to think that we may have been put there to balance past actions, or we are simply there to manifest our love for us. themselves and for others, creating a better world to live.

And you may have decided to be there yourself, even if you don't know it.

May God bless us all.
