FIARE ethical banking collects its first million euros of share capital
The solidarity and commitment of hundreds of entities and people in the construction of an ethical and cooperative bank has made it possible for the Fiare Project to end 2009 having exceeded the figure of one million euros of social capital.
Those responsible for increasing the sum of FIARE's share capital day after day have been more than 300 organizations and 500 individuals, who have opted for the only participatory ethical bank of the State in order to work to transform our society into a fairer reality. . FIARE is marked that the objective for 2010 is to reach 3, 000, 000 euros, and 2011 of 5, 000, 000, figures that would correspond to about 9, 000 associated natural persons and more than 1, 000 legal persons.
Today the Fiare project has 8 territorial networks, 7 associations and 1 foundation, the FIARE Foundation. The project is present in Euskadi, Navarra, Catalonia, Valencian Community, Madrid, Andalusia and Extremadura, Castella León and Castella La Mancha. In addition there are 4 promoter groups, in constitution, in the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands, Galicia and La Rioja. FIARE emphasizes the importance of growing the social network and the financial tool in a balanced way, as well as emphasizing the importance of activating local implementation groups to facilitate the social roots of the project.
To date, Fiare has managed more than 900 deposit operations totaling 17, 000, 000 euros, which have served to finance 76 loan operations with an amount exceeding 11, 000, 000 euros. These are data that are valued very positively from the financial institution since they have reached, and even exceeded, the economic objectives established a priori.

FIARE is defined as a bank aimed at putting financial intermediation at the service of justice, non-profit, in the hands of citizens and aligned with the networks and movements that work for the same objective of fighting against injustices and in favor of sustainability
Fiare operates as an agent of Banca Popolare Etica, offering products and services strictly banking and supervised by the competent institutions. Fiare participates in the creation of the first European credit cooperative that will operate with ethical banking principles. With this objective the Catalan Platform participates in the subscription campaign of social capital open to all people, entities and social movements.
