Introduction

The three gunas versus the ascending sun and moon.

The main characteristic of each guna is:

Guna Sattva: is the quality that generates harmony, linked to goodness, constructivity, beauty, friendship, cordiality, calm, sacrifice or renunciation, solidarity, union, understanding, altruism, detachment, synthesis, love.

Sattva is related to the noble tendencies closest to the Soul ; and therefore in a horoscope we can relate it to the quality of the Ascending Sign and its Esoteric ruler.

Guna Rajas: is the quality that produces activity, linked to passion, desires, doubts, enthusiasm, rapture, preferences, suffering, jealousy, frenzy, aggression, strength, possession, dominance, generosity interested, attachment .

Rajas is related to the tendencies or centralized (selfish) desires of the Personality and its motivating-active power; and therefore in a horoscope we can relate it to the strength of the Solar Sign and its Exoteric ruler.


Guna Tamas: it is the generating quality of passivity linked to the inertia of the dark dense matter, it is the ignorance that generates indolence, apathy, neglect, neglect, abandonment, reflection or deceit, scruples or manias, suspicion, unconsciousness, weakness, clumsiness, comfort, caprice, immobility.

Tamasesta related to the inheritances of the past, the limitations or disadvantages reflected in the "stubborn" physical body; and therefore in a horoscope we can, (as we understand it from esoteric astrology), link with the Moon and its position by houses, (not so much by sign), and aspects with the lunar nodes and planets.

Piscology of the Moon

From esoteric astrology we understand that the lunar form is the most entrenched force to the dense Mother-matter.
