Wisdom Perspectives 1: The Devas

With the winter solstice, Capricorn is the darkest moment of the year, but from the energy point of view, it is the dawn time of the devas. As during the dawn of each day, particularly during this period we can receive spiritual light. Symbolically it is said that at this moment the seven Lords of Flame sing the prayers to the Sun God in a low voice. That is why this month's theme of The Lunar Messenger is "Wisdom Perspectives 1: The Devas."

Worlds of Light

When a cow eats grass, it transforms the grass into milk. The cow does not know how this inner alchemical transmutation happens. The wonderful process is guided by intelligences of nature. Everywhere in nature we see these intelligences working; they deal with highly complex processes and maintain structures and patterns in an appropriate manner. Modern scientists do not accept the existence of these subtle beings; Master EK calls it a matter of maturity for which science has yet to wait. Spiritual science calls them Devas; in the West they are called nature spirits, angels and archangels.

We can imagine the Devas as energy centers that work the different states and planes of creation. In Sanskrit Divi means radiant and therefore beings of light are called Devas. There are a large number of cosmic, planetary and micro-cosmic intelligences in us and in the different realms of nature. Teachers are also called Devas, Guru Devas, enlightened beings who keep teaching others to also find the Light. So the Masters of Wisdom are human beings who have reached the status of Devas and thus become sources of worship. An individual does not become a Teacher because others give him the title of "teacher" but because he is impersonal and can inspire as a Deva.

Devas do not grant personal favors; they work impersonally, such as the functions of our body or the planets. In essence, they are not mental and thus work for the land plan. When we rise to the buddhic plane and also work impersonally, we can connect with the devic activity and be part of the team.

All Devas arise from Devi, the original Light of the World. It is worshiped in a feminine form, as a feminine energy, because she is the first emanation or transformation of eternal existence. This is how the tradition of the adoration of the Mother of the World has been reached. In the Vedas it is called Aditi, the Light beyond darkness, which is not visible with the eyes. Any light is a part of that Light; No light is independent of it. Even enlightened beings pray to her because different lights emerge from this Light.

Aditi is represented as a circle with a central point. It is recommended to meditate on this symbol, stay in the center of the point and feel the circle around us. When we regularly see the circle through the screen of our mind, a circular door opens. The light of Aditi is the light of the hidden vision; It is also called the omnipresent Light that lifts the veil of nature and thus makes us see the Light behind each form and activity.

Adityas, Rudras, Vasus

The original Light is subdivided into 12 qualities of light. They are called the 12 Adityas, the children of Aditi. These are the radiation or consciousness Devas. They are the aspect of the soul of the solar being that is expressed throughout the 12 months of the year as the 12 qualities of the solar signs. In our body we find the 12 sun signs located from head to toe. The Adityas work in us as conscience, instinct, intellect and intuition, as thoughts and actions. They are represented by the symbol of the dodecahedron and form the first of the three main groups of Devas.

The second group of Devas called Rudras contains the Lords of vibration. They create vibrations in the Akasha and thus disturb the original light, like a pebble thrown into a lake. Through this "roar of the Rudras" the Light multiplies in 7 lights and the primary sound in 7 sounds. Rudras are first ray energies; They can create and destroy. They destroy unity and create multiplicity; they also destroy multiplicity to return to unity again. Therefore, they represent the aspect of the will of the soul and help us destroy obstacles. There are 11 Rudras that transmit their strength through the ether. They work with pulsation processes such as breathing, with movement and electrical functions.

The third group of Devas are the Vasus, the Devas of materialization. The 8 Vasus allow material manifestation, govern evolution and creation functions and allow beings to enter and develop. The atom gains its power through the Rudras and its density in the material plane through the Vasus. Along with the Ashwins Mitra and Varuna, the principle of right and left energies, male and female, there are 33 main groups of Devas (12 + 11 + 8 + 2).

Without the physical body we could neither feel nor realize the existence of the Devas groups working in us as a unit. Connecting with them and visualizing their work in the etheric centers we begin to realize their activity in us. Its ability makes us see and hear inside and outside or use the other senses. In this way we gradually become aware of the connection between the physical and the subtle worlds.

The human body

We provide nothing for the Devas to be with us. They act out of compassion and impersonal love. The intelligences that work in us suffer immeasurable pain when we abuse them and act irresponsibly with our body and the senses. The Devas in us function rhythmically and, consequently, our body remains healthy. If, however, our way of life transcends their rhythm, they slowly recede; They feel that the body is no longer a safe place for them. When, for example, they are removed from the digestive system, we feel it as indigestion. When the Devas leave their work in the liver we say, "My liver is no longer working well." The Devas stay away until we correct our behavior. If they don't come back, we have to think about a transplant. When we behave well, they continue to function. They consider the light in us as their Savior, we feel the Light and therefore we can stay.

Our body is the result of a very long work of the Devas, who have created a beautiful abode for the soul that lives inside, so it should not be abused. The Eastern scriptures say that with the human body prepared by the Devas, creation has reached its highest point, because with this body we can experience all 7 planes of existence. That is why man is considered the image of God. It is bigger than the Devas; since they need a human body to come to earth. The angels need cooperation with human beings in order to carry out the divine plan on earth. The beings of the lower realms cannot create conscious contact with the Devas and ascend to them. We have this possibility through our human body. But when we don't know how we have to behave with the body, we imprison ourselves and suffer problems.

The work of the Devas in us can be increased if we link to them consciously and act from this consciousness. In this way, the food we eat can be taken as a gift from the Devas, so that the fire of digestion burns well and can support us in this way.

Cooperation with the Devas

The Devas are pleased with rituals; That is why healing rituals or summoning hymns have come to ask for healing for incurable diseases or to conjure the ill health spell. We invite the Devas keeping the space and the surrounding nature free of impurities, decorating them with pure and fine things and sanctifying the environment with candles and incense. The various herbal gifts used in the fire ritual are energetically related to different cosmic intelligences. The Devas are pleased when we offer fire foods that are energetically pleasing to them and we invoke them with appropriate sounds. Thus the mantras are sung and prayers are offered, so the Devas help us with acts of good will. In Sanskrit it is said, To invite the Devas and expel the demons, invoke OM Especially on the days of a full moon and a new moon we can deepen the relationship with the Devas . If we always do the rituals at the same time, they are even more effective.

The Devas like to cooperate with those who perform charitable acts; We receive your blessings when we help other people or at least give water to a plant or some grains to the birds. In India, clothes are distributed to seek the protection and blessings of the Devas for one person.

With charity and daily adoration there will be two angels who will protect us all the time. They assign themselves to guide us, protect us and also enlighten us. They make our personal follies visible and instruct us on how to rectify. The work of the Devas is to help us in the direction in which we must move forward. For this we can ask for your cooperation and support.
