Nigerian teenagers build electric generator with urine

Three Nigerian teenagers discover how to optimize the obtaining of Hydrogen, Nitrogen and Water by urination and build an electric generator with 6 hours of autonomy

What they are going to read will surprise many, especially those who continue to question the process of obtaining hydrogen, arguing that it is excessively expensive with respect to the use of fossil fuels.

On this occasion there have been three Nigerian girls of 14 and 15 years of age, those who are driven by necessity have been able to discover something that will undoubtedly revolutionize science as the we know

The hydrogen engine or the electric generators of hydrogen cells are not a mystery, the problem that was debated was the difficulty in obtaining the hydrogen by electr H2O analysis, something that provoked controversies in the more skeptical scientific community.

Well, that problem has been completely solved, and not precisely by an advanced MIT laboratory, or by an R&D department of any multinational, but by three Nigerian teenagers 14 and 15 years old, who just to present in LAOS an innovative prototype that uses urine as a source of substitute fuel for Petroleum.

But, the most exciting thing is the precariousness and simplicity of the electric generator prototype, which is capable of separating the components of the Urine into Nitrogen (useful for fertilizer production, diverse industrial and agricultural use), H2O, that is to say Purified Water for consumption and irrigation, and HHO (Combustible Hydrogen) For electrodynamic use. Therefore, one liter of urine has been shown to generate HHO, enough to generate six hours of electricity using a simple gas purification process, and store the rest of the components obtained in the electrolysis, (Water and Nitrogen), for other uses.

This finding evidences the lack of willingness of some of the developed countries to simplify the production processes derived from the Environmental Engineering, and supposes an unprecedented lesson to the community Scientist of the great Research Institutes, who with millionaire budgets have ignored this type of experiments that this week three Nigerian teenagers have made reality.

The electrolysis and purification of urine is a very simple process and could be an unprecedented advance in the fight against the shortage of energy resources, since in its decomposition by electrolysis, it is obtained: Nitrogen, Water and HHO (Hydrogen Gas fuel).

Converting waste into energy is one of the great challenges of the humanity of the 21st century and specifically, a Gordian node of the most advanced techniques of Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Engineering, especially when additionally it is possible to purify waste and convert it into : Water, Nitrogen and Fuel Hydrogen.

At just 14 years old, Nigerian students Duro-Aina Adebola, Akindele Abiola and Faleke Oluwatoyin, together with their 15-year-old classmate, Bello Eniola, managed to develop a machine that can convert a liter of urine into 6 hours of electricity, as we can see on the website of the Maker Faire Africa Event

But what process have they followed to achieve this amazing discovery of the electric generator?

Even more amazing is the simplicity of the process:

1º.-The Urine is placed in an electrolytic cell that performs the decomposition of Urea into Nitrogen, water and Hydrogen.

2nd.- The elements are processed separately (Water and Nitrogen) that can be stored. Additionally, the Hydrogen obtained is passed to a simple water purifying filter.

3º.-Once purified, it passes into an electric generator for combustion.

With a liter of urine, the generator allows 6 hours of electricity, and the rest of the components, (Nitrogen and Water) once purified can be used for irrigation and fertilization, among many other utilities.

This year 2012, the Lagos fair, has been a worldwide example of Innovation.
