God's angel

As humanity we must be very grateful to the angels of God who love us, guide us, relieve us, teach, protect us and communicate the messages of the Lord.

The angels are millions of millions, and next to each one of us there is an angel that accompanies us from the moment of our conception.

Angels teach us to worship God

Our invisible friends teach us by example what is most important: to worship God, the Creator of our life, the Father of our soul, the One to whom we approach and return through our praises.

Saint John the apostle and evangelist tells us in the Apocalypse how he heard, when he was taken by the Spirit, millions and millions of angels around the throne of God "They said with a loud voice:" The Lamb that was slain is worthy to receive power, riches, wisdom, strength, honor, glory and praise "(Rev 5:12).

And later Saint John again says that “All the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living beings. They fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, saying: “Amen! Blessing, glory, wisdom, thanksgiving, honor, power and strength, be to our God for ever and ever ”(Rev 7, 11-12).

The angels transmit God's messages to us

Angels communicate to us those messages that God wants us to know, for our good. In the past the words of God approached the Virgin Mary, Joseph, the shepherds and the disciples of Jesus. Also today, angels can bring revealing messages to us, at the time it is necessary, if we are attentive to their presence.

The evangelist Luke tells us how “the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee, called Nazareth” (Lk 1, 26) to visit the Virgin Mary and announce that he would conceive, by the Holy Spirit, a son to What would Jesus call. And that He would be "called Son of the Most High" (Lk 1, 32).

Also to Joseph "an angel of the Lord appeared to him in dreams, saying: Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to receive Mary your wife, because the Child who has begotten in her is of the Holy Spirit" (Mt 1, 20) .

To the shepherds who were taking care of their flocks “an angel of the Lord was presented to them, and the glory of the Lord surrounded them with radiance, and they had great fear. But the angel said to them, Fear not, for, behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people; because you were born today, in the city of David, a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will serve as a signal: you will find a child wrapped in diapers and lying in a manger. And suddenly a multitude of the heavenly armies appeared with the angel, praising God and saying: Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among men in whom He is pleased (Lk 2, 9-14).

When Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to Jesus' tomb “an angel of the Lord descending from heaven, and approaching, he removed the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his snow-white garment, and fear of him the guards trembled and remained dead. And speaking the angel, he said to the women: You do not fear; because I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here, because he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where I lay. And go quickly, and tell his disciples that He has risen from the dead; and behold, He goes before you to Galilee; there you will see him (Mt 28, 2-7).

The angels protect us

Angels protect us when God wants to keep us from all threats. There are those who narrate how before a calamity happened they appeared to them a kind being and advised them to go to another place, thus avoiding the danger zone.

A dream angel of the Lord appeared to him in dreams, saying: Get up, take the Child from his mother and flee to Egypt, and what? go there until I tell you; because Herod is going to look for the Child to kill him (Mt 2, 13). Then, when Herod died, the angel reappeared to Josh and said: `` Get up, take the Ni'oya his mother and go to the land of Israel, because those who threatened the life of the Child have died (Mt 2, 20).

The angels heal and relieve us

Our angel friends relieve and comfort us in the overwhelming moments. One person said that one day, when his body seemed to faint, he was visited by a luminous being who instantly healed him with a caress and words in an unknown language, and then become invisible and disappear.

When Jesus was in the desert, after being tempted by the devil and expelling him saying Go, Satan! Because it is written: `` The Lord your God will worship, and only he will serve (Mt 4, 10), the devil left him and the Angels came to comfort him and serve him (Mt 4, 11).

Later, when Jesus was in Gethsemane agonizing, praying, his sweat became like thick drops of blood, which fell on the earth. (Lk 22, 44). He was stressed and that is why he said to God, Father, if it is your will, turn this cup away from me; but my will is not done, but yours ... (Lc 22, 42). The Father did not set aside the cup that he should drink, but he did send him an angel from heaven to strengthen him (Lk 22, 43).

Archbishop Rafael said to Tobit: God sent me to heal you and your daughter-in-law Sara (Tob 12, 14). He also told them to bless God forever. When I was with you, it was not on my own initiative, but by God's will. It is he whom they must bless and sing every day (Tob as 12, 18).

The angels taught us to do the will of God

The heavenly messengers are eternally and continually performing the will of God, and they teach us, by their example, to do the same.

By God's will, when the Son of Man comes "in the clouds with great power and glory" (Mk 13, 26) the angels will gather "their elect from the four winds, from the end of the earth to the end of the sky ”(Mc 13, 27). At the request of the Lord the angels will seal "in the forehead of the servants of our God" (Rev 7, 3) and stop "the four winds of the earth" (Rev 7, 1). These and many other things, angels do and will do at the request of God.

We are also called to do the will of God, keeping his commandments and obeying his word.

The angels accompany us and guide

Angels accompany us in every moment of our life from the moment we are conceived. They persist at our side despite the damage inflicted by our falls and mistakes. They are attentive to us, even if we turn our backs and ignore them. They love us patiently, giving us time to get up, look at them and listen to them.

The angels accompanied Jesus and will be at his side when he returns in his glory (Mt 25, 31). They also accompanied Tobias and many others.

The angels guide us on the path back to the Father, because they know that sometimes we need help to discern, to decide and to follow the right path.

St. John saw “fly in the middle of heaven to another angel who had an eternal gospel to announce it to those who dwell on the earth, and to every nation, tribe, language, and people, who said with a loud voice:“ Fear (Revere) a God and give to the glory, because the hour of His judgment has come. Worship the one who made heaven and earth, the sea and the fountains of waters ”(Rev 14, 6-7).

Eternal thank you

For all these things, we humans have nothing but to be grateful to our heavenly friends, who love and help us, although many times we are not aware of it.

And we can ask God to continue filling them always with heavenly goods and keeping them in their sweet paradise. Where with your help one day we can also dwell, thanks to the goodness of God.
