II International Forum of Alternatives to School and Youth Violence

II INTERNATIONAL FORUM
FROM ALTERNATIVES TO
SCHOOL AND YOUTH VIOLENCE
Just a planet that loves and respects children can create peace. Children are the next generation of adults and if they grow up in fear, violence and pain, that will be what they will express in their existence.

A. Mikael OBJECTIVES OF THE FORUM
1. Work on the broad social awareness of the problem of school and youth violence.

2. Analysis of the origin of violence.

3. Evaluation of the mechanisms and tools currently existing at the institutional level. Assessment of the results obtained in pilot experiences.
4. Concite and gather the largest number of people, entities, professionals and institutions that are working on this problem.

5. Presentation of a new proposal for centers. A pending reality to face.

II INTERNATIONAL FORUM OF ALTERNATIVES TO SCHOOL AND YOUTH VIOLENCE.

April 14 and 15, 2007
HOUSE OF CULTURE BENALMADENA, M LAGA
Traditionally, educational systems have focused the entire educational system on the intellectual, logical and mental aspects. Our other side of the brain, which governs emotions, intuition and other abilities have always been undervalued, when not ignored for the vaunted CI or intelligence coefficient.

Today we know that emotional energy is decisive in the life of the human being, to the point that more advanced studies and research have called it `` master aptitude '' because it depends on good operation of all other powers.

To put it simply: a person with emotional balance, reasons, acts, undertakes projects and relates in a healthy and productive way with their peers. In the opposite case, imbalances are more frequent and increasing.

The rising wave of school and social violence is the tip of the iceberg that emerges because of the great social emotional imbalance in which we are immersed.

Loss of values, family disruption, rapid and profound changes in our society, are just some of the parameters that increase this deficit that is urgently needed.
Learning to identify emotions, manage and direct them in a healthy way before they lead to tension and violence, develop non-violent communication techniques and conflict resolution, is something as basic and urgent as the daily shower habit. It is rather an internal shower prevention, since it is teaching boys and girls from school, establishing healthy links with inner energy in the only way that we can establish a solid foundation for the prevention of this growing social scourge.

Our proposal is based on establishing a compulsory Emotional Education subject, where boys and girls are trained from small to know their energy before it controls or overflows in negative habits, since what is not known cannot be control.
