The path that changed their lives

A Cádiz artist and his partner triumph in Canada with 'Walking for Peace', the book that picks up his route to Jerusalem in search of a better world.

Although it has an aesthetic vocation, the book 'Walking for Peace, an inner journey' is much more than an entertainment book. It is the true story of two fighters, one from Cádiz, the other from Lebanese descent, who marched for more than a year on the roads between Rome and Jerusalem. 5, 000 kilometers on foot in search of reconciliation, first among peoples, to realize after the achievement of harmony begins with oneself. The authors of this work are Alberto Agraso González and Mony Dojeiji, a couple formed along the way, made in 2001. 'Walking for Peace', which in the coming months will be published in Spain, has been endorsed with the distinction of finalist in the Adventure category at the National Indie Excellence Book Awards, a prestigious literary prize in North America for independent authors. In addition, he has just been recognized as a finalist (they fail on August 18) in the Dan E Poynter Global E-book Award.

The couple met in the summer of 2001 on the Camino de Santiago, the pilgrimage route that runs through northern Spain. "I had realized that the limitations on my life and my dreams were being imposed by myself, they did not come from abroad, and then I began to change, " says Agraso, a Cadiz artist who 15 years ago decided to leave everything and undertake a New vital route. Chance, destiny, joined Mony, and the two, then some strangers, set out on the road to peace just a month after the events of September 11. Accustomed to walking on designated paths, the walkers then faced the difficulties of walking along the shoulder of uncovered roads, crossing cities and mountains; autumn, winter, summer ...

Our plan was to complete it in six months, but we realized that the important thing was the road itself, the experiences shared with others and the reflection on ourselves, the Cadiz insists that Together with his companion, he carried the message of peace printed on his backpack for thirteen countries. But they were never alone, since every night they asked for and obtained refuge from the neighbors of the towns they visited. They even became famous, but nothing comparable to the projection his book is having, written years after the experience after having dedicated himself to the education of his eight-year-old daughter Ós.

Our intention is to sow hope in the reader, so that he realizes that there are other paths that can lead him to be happy. Alberto and Mony got it but, they insist, it doesn't take thousands of kilometers. Just start walking.
