The good news here is that karma is neither destiny nor punishment . Let's start by defining what Karma is, it is basically understood as Action, it includes the actions of the three portals that are those of mind (motivations and mental events), those of word (verbal communication) and those of the body (physical).

Karma is neither destiny nor punishment

We can say that all the actions we perform in an instant, during the hour generate Karma, causes and consequences . We find Karma Positive, negative and neutral. The latter includes actions that have no motivation whatsoever, such as moving your arms naturally when walking, these are neutral actions.

Why do they say it is punishment?

Why do they say it is punishment? In some spiritual circles, the negative connotation of karma is used to somehow manipulate or stimulate the good behavior of people through fear. Actually, karma is not only negative, we also find the positive one that has productive and positive repercussions on our life, for example, if you act patiently, the result is a calm and peaceful life, if you act generously, there is no lack of livelihood. to live, if you act moved by greed you will experience shortcomings in the future, in reality, nobody punishes us, we act or generate causes and reap the consequences. Cause and Effect is not an invention, it is a physical law, so what we get as a result of positive actions are positive consequences and vice versa.

Now, it is important to understand that Karma is expansive and is possibly a powerful reason to be attentive to our actions, because we possibly believe that if we tell a lie it only impacts the person we told it to, but if it tells it to another, and this one to another is generated a circle in which we all become accomplices or co-participants of the original lie.

If we do not generate the cause there will be no effect and the negative karma can be purified through the repentance of the harmful action that is not fault and the restitution of the damage, it must be done in a genuine and honest way so that it has impact, it is necessary and vital right mental attitude.

A reaction corresponds to every action

If Karma is action, we cannot say that it is punishment, because we who act are no one else, nobody punishes us, somehow we only reap what we sow or did at some time, there is no other entity that punishes is only that every action corresponds to a reaction and we who have the power and responsibility over them are us. If punishment could be said we would say that it would be the result of our lack of attention or positive motivation. Nobody punishes us, at all times we have the option to decide what we want to receive and act accordingly.

Karma is not destiny because nobody acts for us, nobody can receive the result of our karma, nor can we receive the karma of another, it is individual, so karma is not responsible for our destiny, it is we who with our actions and decisions We are working or building our destiny.

we own our destiny

The great discovery is to understand that at all times we own our destiny and those responsible for the positive or negative karma we receive are ourselves. Thus, Karma is neither punishment nor destiny, it is responsibility and the result of our actions.

It is important to avoid the manipulative conceptions of the concept of karma that can lead us to fear of acting or not taking responsibility for what we do. The great tool is the present attention, not harming others and evaluating our field of action in the widest and most open way possible to ensure that what we are doing is edifying and will not bring us serious consequences.

So we evaluate our actions in a constant and repeated way, understanding that, no one will receive the positive or negative fruit of our actions only us and that the only ones who have the power to build a healthy present and future life are also us, this is great because it is the great opportunity to understand that karma is not destiny, nor punishment, rather it is the opportunity to build the life we want to have in the present and in the future and only depends on our individual choice. Karma is nothing but attention and responsibility, there is nothing to fear if we have the necessary diligence in our daily action.
