In a festive atmosphere and with percussion music, the Personal Growth Workshop for Children begins organized by the Naturae Mater center every fifteen days. A few minutes later, the little ones practice yoga exercises, color mandalas and play with each other. “Our goal is for them to have a space where they can express themselves freely and make the best of themselves, with joy and confidence, ” explains Ana Belén Puerta, one of the project's promoters.

According to Puerta, when a human being develops an integral discipline, he can calm anxiety, raise self-esteem and control emotions. And specifically, in the case of children, it allows them to know their body, learn to master it, have body awareness and develop concentration. All activities are carried out in a natural and balanced way through games and images that help develop the imagination.

The team that carries out this free workshop is made up of volunteer collaborators, a children's education teacher and a specialist in Laughter Therapy. The meeting lasts an hour and a half and is intended for children between 4 and 11 years.

“The answer is being very good. There are parents who already knew some of these techniques and parents who did not, but in all cases, they are seeing that the children are giving themselves to the activities and the dynamics of the workshop with enthusiasm and that joy we were looking for is breathed ”, remarks to Positive News .

Also for the youngest, from ten months to 3 years, a music therapy workshop is held in order to promote communication, relationships, learning, movement, expression and organization in order to meet physical, emotional, mental, social and cognitive needs.

Naturae Mater is a meeting point where professionals of natural medicine and alternative therapies offer an integral solution to the problems of today's society through massages, Naturopathy, Bach Flowers and psychology to holistic. In addition, workshops and courses are given that enhance the balance of the person, such as yoga, Tai Chi, Pilates or Reiki.

The idea arose during the past year. One of Naturae Mater's collaborators had taught Tai Chi classes to parents and children in neighborhood associations, others took their children to yoga classes and there were teachers who had applied techniques of relaxing or painting mandalas and had seen very favorable changes in children. In February, we were fortunate to have the visit of Noem Paymal, author of the Pedagogy 3000 book, which showed us concrete guidelines for an integral education, which coincided with what was previously We were sharing and so, we started to develop that line, says Puerta.
