How many times we listen to the grandparents or adults of our time say: it makes its way to walk ... it was the theme of a famous song at the time but they were very right.

There are several approaches to the path, in this case the emotional and spiritual path. For example, some traditions of the East affirm that merit or positive actions must be taken to reach an ultimate goal, such as in the case of the tradition of Budha, enlightenment, in the case of the Christian cultures of the West, heaven or hell .

a demotivating point of view

They are interesting approaches but that in some practitioners work as something demotivating, and leave the enterprise of emotional and spiritual development for that simple reason.

The reality is that there is another approach in which it is said that the path itself is the end, the road and how you travel it is what counts, somehow you do not have to wait until old age or die to do something edifying, you do it daily, you accumulate merit and results of your practice every moment, and somehow as in some contexts it is understood you accumulate Karma points, that is to say you are always paying the karma account, to every moment, every hour, every day. More in an uplifting way than not constructive.

The objective is to enjoy the road, if you are going to travel far away you are looking for something that makes you more bearable the time it will take you to get there, is it not like that ?, it is the same on the spiritual path And emotionally, you work gradually on the path of your life to reach the goal simply in peace, with a deep understanding of vital performance.

how do you live is how do you die

This is how some teachers affirm that the way you live is the way you die, if you lead a quiet, harmonious, vigilant life in your performance of mind, word and body there will be no reason not to die in peace, with settled accounts and closed cycles. On the other hand, if you live selfishly, accumulating anger, resentment and envy, the result will be a tormented death and in many occasions with enormous repentance and suffering due to the damages committed.

The above is no reason to become monks at this moment, or to immediately meditate on a cave in a mountain, it is only a wake-up call to get ready to work in a continuous, disciplined and persevering way in what we do, we are filling our world with drops of merit day by day.

destroy non-constructive habits

Of course, it implies giving up some things that are detrimental to us, but at the same time you are destroying non-constructive habits that cause you suffering, for example, in this approach you work with antidotes to what happens where daily life is your laboratory, in The case of anger begins with analyzing the reason for it, the cases that trigger it, how you react in different experiences and apply the antidote of patience, which will be genuine if it is the result of its understanding and analysis.

For a selfish mind you can apply compassion or deep understanding of the suffering of the other, for laziness the joyful effort, for envy to reflect on the great achievements of others, for jealousy detachment, for ignorance to see the things as they are without projecting their own and wrong ideas in the other or the others.

don't wait to die to do something edifying

Anyway, only we have the final decision and the free will to choose how to live, but to conceive of life itself as the path or the laboratory of personal growth is a good option, when you least expect it you discover that you have made enough progress in the course of time and that at every moment you are reaping peace, prosperity, trust, genuine friendships, contact with qualified teachers and you do not have to wait to die to receive something good, you are actually receiving it at every step on the path of your life, you work and harvest at all times, then now we can conclude that it is totally true that, it is not the end that matters but to make way when walking.
