Capricorn

December 22, 2011 to January 20, 2012

The entry of the sun into Capricorn marks the birth of the Savior. Each year time offers an opportunity for a Savior to be born within oneself. Capricorn marks the dawn of the gods.

The dawn of the gods symbolically means the emergence of divine intelligences within one's being. The corresponding light dissipates the darkness. Since Capricorn is an earth sign, awakening the terrestrial towards the Light is considered as an activity of saving beings from the imprisonment of matter to bring them to the freedom of the Light.

Matter contains the spirit; Matter grows with the spirit as the basis. Matter grows to the point of getting to imprison the spirit. The beings in essence are spiritual, but their attitude towards the material contributes to the growth of the material to the point where the material wealth that they develop conditions them in turn.

Unless we know the intelligent use of material wealth, we find ourselves eternally trapped in the web of the material. We imprison ourselves as a spider trapped in its own web.

Material wealth must be used in the service with intelligence. As long as the use of the material is done in constructive channels and as long as there is even an outflow and inlet of the matter, man remains the master of the material.

A squander is as conditioned by matter as a stingy, since neither of them knows how to use it properly. Unless we learn to handle the forces of the material, we cannot handle the subtle forces.

On both sides of Capricorn are the solar signs of Sagittarius and Aquarius. Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter and Aquarius is ruled by Uranus.

Therefore, the two houses flanking Capricorn contribute to the expansion of consciousness. Saturn in Capricorn receives the impact of Jupiter on the one hand, and of Uranus on the other hand, which is a unique feature. Subject Saturn and the other two planets, J piter and Uranus, cause expansion. All expansion is consolidated in this way, and in Capricorn there is a sustained and restrained growth.

The lamb that climbs the mountain is a good example of expansion that alternates with consolidation. This results in a progressive movement towards heights. That the aspirants benefit from the alternating currents of expansion and consolidation in the month of Capricorn, the month of the Savior.
