Working with parallel lives

When they make an important choice in their life they are really choosing between two possible futures. As soon as they make the choice, a possible future fades, right? Or does that alternative future also exist in a parallel world and is it experienced and lived through another part of you? According to the theory of "the many worlds" in physics every time there is a moment of choice, a fracture occurs in the universe, the various possibilities exist in parallel worlds. What is the meaning of parallel worlds spiritually and how can we experience this meaning in our daily lives? That is the central issue of this article.

In the world of 50's science, the so-called "interpretation of many worlds of quantum mechanics" was formulated. This theory states that as soon as there is a moment of choice in the universe, the universe is fractured. Both possibilities coexist in parallel worlds. According to this theory the universe is composed of an infinite collection of worlds. Our cosmos is only one of those worlds. Since the introduction of the interpretation of many worlds, the popularity of this theory has grown among scientists. And through books and science fiction films, the theory has also been presented to a wider audience.

Although this spiritually speaking theory has very interesting consequences, it is a scientific theory. It does not speak of the internal meaning of the existence of parallel worlds. Science does not consider its task to reflect on the meaning and implications of parallel lives in our daily lives.

What does the theory of many worlds imply for the understanding of the soul? What does parallel lives mean for the development of our consciousness? Why does the soul choose to experience a life in different ways?

Parallel lives do not exist separately from each other but are - like everything else in the universe - internally connected to each other. They all belong to you. As such they have a purpose: to increase the field of experience of their soul, and with it the growth of consciousness.

The soul experiences the physical world through us. We as humans travel a possible path over time. In this context, it is more appropriate to speak of a possible timeline, and of our current life as such a timeline. The moment we make an important choice in our lives, a division of the timelines occurs. There is a line in which we experience choice A and another line in which we experience choice B. Humans are not aware of the second timeline that we are not experiencing, but our soul is. For her, that second timeline is as real as the original.

Not all the timelines that arise from the choices we make during our lives are equally important to the soul. Some are more defining than others. We can compare this with the days of our lives: some days - our wedding, the children's birthdays - are deeply meaningful to us and we do not forget them. Many other days run routinely and are forgotten. Of course, these routine days also have their function in the whole; they create a growth in quiet integration that lead to those special moments. The same principle applies to timelines.

Timelines are divided into moments of choice that attract intense emotions. Imagine that after a deep internal struggle you decide to quit your job and dedicate your life to your passion, you become painters. There is also a timeline where they stay at work. A painter's life is emotionally intense; it entails fear and insecurity of one part and deep inspiration and fullness of the other. The timeline in which they work in an office does not involve many risks, it is less emotionally intense, but there they also accumulate valuable experiences. This timeline can be compared to routine days in your life, while the artist's timeline can be compared to a memorable and sensational day.

From the perspective of the soul, the Earth is not a 'thing', it is not a bulk of material, but a realm of multi-layered experience, a field of infinite opportunities in which the human mind can explore itself. The soul is curious and wants to enrich itself with the whole experience of multiple timelines. It would be a shame to use this magnificent earthly personality with all its potential - you - for a single possibility. That would be a huge loss of potential. Earthly reality - the Earth itself - was made to allow us to explore all these possibilities because again, the Earth is not a thing. At the soul level, all possible timelines are experienced simultaneously. Earth is the vast experiential space in which this totality of timelines occurs.

To understand this, we have to understand that even according to science, mind - or spirit - is more fundamental than matter. Matter is not really, that material that quantum mechanics teaches us. From a spiritual perspective, matter is created by the human mind / spirit to explore itself in all its endless facets. The goal of the mind is - by experiencing itself in the material world - to become fully aware of its inner potential. That potential is infinite, and that is why material reality is also infinite and much richer and more complex than we can imagine.

As human beings, we can have the idea that matter limits us. For example, we would like to fly like birds, but we can't, although in our dreams we can. In reality, the material limitations of the Earth realm ensure that we can experience certain aspects of life more intensely. To give an example: if we could do anything, and we didn't have to deal with our vulnerable human bodies and emotions, we would never discover our courage. We need the limitations to discover this quality in ourselves. In Goethe's words: 'It is by working within the limits that the master reveals himself' (In der Beschränkung zeigt sich der Meister) (In the Restriction the Master is shown). Due to these limitations of the material world we need to awaken and nurture internal qualities such as intuition, understanding and courage. We can compare life on Earth to play an intricate and rich game. All games have certain rules. On the one hand, these rules are limiting, but on the other, they make the game possible with all their joy and enthusiasm.

In other timelines of our current life different aspects of our personality are experienced, which lead to the awakening of other internal qualities. The game is played in a different way there, and the soul is enriched by absorbing all the diverse results.

A human life is like a house with an unlimited number of rooms. Each room shows us another aspect of our internal reality and is designed to guide us to the perception of a specific facet of our being. In this way the existence of parallel worlds is an instrument for the soul that promotes the expansion of perception.

The meaning of parallel lives for your current personality

Experiencing parallel lives not only enriches the soul, it also has value in our daily lives. Our soul is experiencing all those lines of time, and we as a human being are connected to our soul. That is why at a deep level, we are also connected to those other lives of ours.

Our parallel lives can inspire us and give us strength. They can be an explanation for unexpected talents, but they can also be the cause of fears not understood. There is a continuous energy exchange between the various time lines. We are a team working on the same project so to speak.

Some choices lead to a balanced and stable life in which few notable things happen. That timeline can give a certain calm to the other timelines where life occurs in a more turbulent way.

It may also be that certain talents develop in a timeline. For example, someone decides to live in France and learns French in that particular timeline. In other timelines of that same life, there may be a natural feeling for the French language and culture.

Making contact

The following technique can be used to make contact with other timelines:

Then imagine that they are floating upwards. Look at that moment from above. Try to rise internally to the level of your soul. See that two paths start from that moment, each with its own experiences. One is the path they have chosen, the other is the alternative.

- Focus on the alternative. Feel your energy change. What does it radiate? How do they feel there? What experiences are accumulating there?

- Allow those experiences to be: say 'yes' internally. Feel how those experiences can enrich you and make your approach to life different. Immerse yourself in that other timeline completely for a moment.

- Look at that energy exchange between your current timeline and the alternative line. What can you learn from that other timeline, and what message do you get from that other timeline?

As with any other guided meditation, continue it if it gives you clarity, inspiration and strength. If it makes you feel uncomfortable, let it go and maybe try another time.
