Walk with them and ask them questions. If you see them overwhelmed, follow quickly. Facing their e-motions is like playing catch a hot potato. As long as they keep it in the air, they don't burn.

Any "understanding" they may require, regarding a genuine e-motion, will be given to them as they move along with it. It is as if they were a swimmer, clinging to the fin of a dolphin, which is dragged in its wake. They feel what he feels, even as the dolphin's thoughts become his.
