Seven exercises for Peace, by Deepak Chopra

Doctor Deepak Chopra is carrying out a very beautiful movement in favor of peace.

The peace program invites you to become a peacemaker by performing, every day, a concrete action focused on making peace a reality, step by step in your personal life. Start today:

* Sunday: * Be in favor of peace.
* Monday: * Think for peace.
* Tuesday: * Feel for peace.
- * Wednesday: * Speak for peace.
- * Thursday: * Act in favor of peace.
- * Friday: * Create in favor of peace.
- * Saturday: * Share in favor of peace.

Each exercise only takes a few minutes. It can be done in private or in public, but those around you will know that you are in favor of peace by your way of acting in the daily life.

* Sunday: Be in favor of peace *

Today, take five minutes to meditate on peace. Sit quietly and close your eyes. Pay attention to the beating of your heart and repeat these four words inwardly: peace, harmony, laughter, love. Let these words radiate to your body from the silence of your heart.

At the end of the meditation, tell yourself or yourself, Today I will strip myself of all resentment. Remember some resentment against someone and let it go. Let that person know that you forgive her.

* Monday: Think for peace *

Thought has power when it is backed by intention. Today, enter in your thoughts the intention to act in favor of peace. Make a moment of silence and then repeat this ancient prayer:

Make me loved, make me happy, make me peaceful.
Make my friends happy, loved and peaceful.
Make those who I consider my enemies happy, loved and peaceful.
Make all beings happy loved and peaceful.
Make the whole world experience happiness, love and peace.

If at any time during the day you feel dominated or dominated by fear or anger, repeat these intentions: prayer will return your center of gravity.

* Tuesday: Feel for peace *

This day is to experience the emotions of peace: compassion, understanding and love.

Compassion is sharing the suffering and, when we feel the suffering of another person, understanding is born.

Understanding is knowing that suffering is shared by everyone and when we understand that we are not alone in our suffering, love is born. And, when there is love, there is opportunity for peace.

In the course of the day observe a stranger and tell yourself or yourself in silence, this person is like me and how I have experienced joy and sadness, despair and hope, fear and love. Like me, this person is not eternal and one day will end. The peace of this person is as important as my peace. I want there to be peace, harmony, laughter and love in your life and in the life of all beings.

* Wednesday: Speak for peace *

Make the purpose today to make your interlocutors happy and say to yourself or yourself: today, every word you speak will be chosen consciously and avoid complaints, condemnations and criticisms.

The exercise consists in performing one of the following actions:

Tell a person how much you appreciate it.
Express genuine gratitude to those who have helped and loved you.
Offer words of relief or encouragement to someone who needs them.
Show respect to someone whose respect you value.
If you discover that you react negatively or aggressively against someone, keep silent. Wait to calm down to speak and do it, then, with respect.

* Thursday: Act in Favor of Peace *

Today is the day to help someone who needs it: a child, a sick person, an old man or an invalid. Help can be in many ways. Tell yourself or yourself, today I'm going to smile at someone I don't know. If someone insults me or injures another person, I will respond with a gesture of kindness. I will send an anonymous gift to a person, regardless of their condition. I will offer my help without expecting gratitude or recognition.

* Friday: Create for peace *

Today, propose a creative idea to solve a personal, family or friends conflict. If you can, try to create an idea that serves your community, your country or worldwide.

You can change an old habit that does not work, look at someone in a new way, say a few words you have never said before or think of an activity that integrates a group of people to have fun and have fun.

In a second moment, invite a family member or friend to propose an idea of the same style. Creativity feels better when it is oneself who proposes the new idea or the new approach. Let you know that you accept and enjoy creativity.

Allow ideas to flow and try whatever is striking. The purpose here is to create bonds, because only when we connect with others is mutual trust born and, when there is trust, there is no place for hostilities and suspicions, the two great enemies of peace.

* Saturday: Share in favor of peace *

Share the exercise of making peace with two people today. Give them this text and invite them to start the daily exercises. As more people participate, the action will expand to form a critical mass.

Celebrate today your own peace consciousness with another peace conscious person.
Share your experience of greater peace.
Share your gratitude because someone takes the issue of peace as seriously as you.
Share your ideas to help the world become a critical mass of peace.
Do what you can to help someone who wants to become a peacemaker.
The best reason to become a peacemaker

You already know the program. Becoming a peacemaker does not mean becoming an activist and participating in protest marches, it is not necessary to be against something, no money is needed: what is requested is internalization and dedication to the construction of peace.
