Saturn in Sagittarius - Part 1, January 2015

  • 2015

Three days ago, on December 23, Saturn has left the sign of Scorpio, which has been transiting since October 6, 2012. Saturn, the Great Malficent, as the astrologers of the antiquity, Cronos the God of time in Roman mythology, resonates with the archetypes of structure, matter, restriction, limits, the time limit of the human experience in each incarnation, discipline, the reality of time and space, institutions, obligations, transiting the Eighth Sign of the Zodiac, which leads us to the experience of the energy that is found deep within our psyche, our most secret desires, sexuality, our most forgotten and ignored themes, our unconscious patterns, the pathologies that derive from them, money and possessions of others. During these last three years, we have discovered even more the scams of our leaders, the sexual attitudes of many who, from their position of power, imposed on many children and women, some 30 and 40 years ago. Many ended up in jail and those who are already dead, such as Jimmy Savile, the English television host, saw his reputation shattered at the evidence of his past actions. Even the beloved Bill Cosby who delighted us with his humor and his programs of a bourgeois African-American family is now under accusation of repeated rapes, with many women who have finally dared to put themselves in evidence in order to seek justice and perhaps not only that. This process, however uncomfortable, leads us to review those corners of our psyche where we keep topics that are very uncomfortable to walk through them normally, but where lies the source of our power and creativity.

Now, for two days and until June 17 of the year that is about to begin, Saturn enters Sagittarius, something he had not done for almost 30 years in 1985-87. If you were alive in those years, what happened in your life then? On June 17, Saturn gets back into the last grades of Scorpio, as if to conclude that stage, until September 17, 2015, when he returns to Sagittarius, this time to stay until December 19, 2017. It parks retrograde on March 14, the same day that the Uranus-Pluto square finally forms its last exact contact about 15º from Aries-Capricorn respectively. Thus begins a stage that we are already living in a certain way and we see it in what happens in Argentina, with the judges, who are finally investigating the president and her children, for tax fraud, and also in the United States, with what happened in Ferguson and New York, where judges have left police without judging that by abuse of power or fear, they killed young unarmed African Americans, something they have done many times in the past, but that now, inspire a popular reaction, as if something inside The group says: "not anymore, enough of these abuses!".

Sagittarius introduces us to philosophy, education, young people, the judicial system, long journeys, distant cultures, the search for truth above all, Nature, our ideals, the search for what we call God, not to join it, as it happens in Pisces, and through Neptune, but to know it and understand it and expand our mind towards something bigger than our daily experience. Ruled by Jupiter, like Pisces, the largest planet in our solar system, it is the experience that must, with the discovery of Saturn, put a limit to its excessive expansion. Jupiter takes us out of the neighborhood, to look for in other kingdoms, in other cultures, the human experience, to enrich ourselves with its diversity, with its customs outside our own.

The entrance of Saturn to this sign will confront us with all the irregularities in these fields, and we will be forced to face situations that can no longer be supported within the mentioned sectors. Aviation will be affected, and investigations into the latest air disasters will bear fruit, at least with the airlines having to take responsibility for their mistakes and wrong decisions, as in the case of the MA17 flight, which was fired when crossing Ukraine of Malaysia Airlines and the previous disappearance of another flight of the same company, the already famous MA370.

Saturn brings results therefore it is possible that the mystery of this last flight is solved. But it will also confront us with the reality that although Neptune tells us that we are all ONE, it is also true that we all have different truths to find and live and we must respect the fact that others have different philosophies of life and values. The issue of ISIS and our fight against Muslim fundamentalism will be another of the topics that Saturn will bring us in Sagittarius. Both Isis and the rest, we must learn to accept the ideals of others. Neither fundamentalists can continue to think that Western ideals are evil, nor do Westerners think the same of Muslims. We will have to find a middle ground, where we can learn to live with a certain commitment and respect for each other.

Finding your truth and respecting that of others is one of the lessons of this passage from Saturn through Sagittarius.

During this journey through the sign of the Centaur, Saturn, as it approaches May-June it will be approaching the square with Neptune. These two greats of Greek Mythology that seem enemies in many aspects, since Neptune finds matter and form (Saturn), limiting and Saturn is not comfortable in the kingdom of Neptune, because it insists on ordering and shaping something that must remain ethereal and formless. Liz Greene says of this pair: “In the encounter between Saturn and Neptune lies one of the most fundamental conflicts of life, form and form do not collide, to create the magnificent gift of the vision of the incarnation or the refusal to be born psychologically. ”

For those born with the conjunction of these two planets in Libra in the years 1951-53 they will have a magnificent opportunity to understand the Neptune-Saturn dilemma and the tension caused by this quadrature, perhaps find a way to be born as an individual or give birth to a creative project, or a part of being, lying in the unconscious, with no possibility of emerging to consciousness until now.

On the issue of relationships, the ability to differentiate between "falling in love" and true love of a couple, between the illusion of union with the Goddess or God through another human being and daily, patient work with the another, to build an authentic relationship, based on the acceptance of the other in all its human dimension.

In the second part of this article, I will extend more in the different aspects that Saturn will do in his tour of Sagittarius.

For now, the other signs of Fire, Leo and Aries, begin an extraordinary period of construction of a new way of organizing their lives, their finances and their profession, for the mutable signs on the contrary: Gemminis, Virgo and Pisces, like Sagittarius, enter a stage of much personal growth, with opportunities to correct past decisions that have not come to a good end, to restructure an aspect of their lives that will lead them to grow both personally and professionally. Time to build and take care of others, sometimes, against our own will. Even so, learning will be profound and enriching.
