Before we start talking about the subtleties of dream adventures, let's step back and ask ourselves the obvious question: what exactly is a sleepy dream? A sleepy dream is one in which you realize that you are dreaming. But don't confuse it with a very vivid dream.

A dream is to understand that you are dreaming at that moment, it is a sudden epiphany in which you are represented and you wonder if you are dreaming ( or a moment? am I dreaming? ). Maybe you have noticed during the dream that you are in an impossible location under normal circumstances (well, how did I get to Hawaii?) Or maybe you have run into something totally absurd ( Is that an ostrich driving a car? ) or the contradiction may have to do with your past ( One moment, I am no longer in college! It has to be a dream! ). Lucid dreams are usually activated with some form of incoherence, something that suddenly causes the dreamer to stop and question their reality.

Once it is solid, you will remember your daytime life completely and be able to think logically, make decisions and explore the dreamlike landscape just as you move through the physical world . You will have direct influence over the whole dream and its content. While in a habitual dream you acted blindly, unable to reflect on your present situation, now you have the reins : your mind is awake enough to have the last word. Have a conversation with a character of your dreams, fly across a mountain range, breathe underwater, cross walls effortlessly, are just a few examples. You are no longer limited to a physical body, you have the freedom to travel great distances, move at incredible speeds or even transcend time as you know it.

When you understand that you do not live outside the inner world of your dreams, you are able to move, configure the environment and even create objects from nothing. Everything around you acquires a very intimate relationship; You could even say that the world around you is you. Although it sounds like an exaggeration, it is not: the sensations of touch, smell, sight, taste and sound will seem as vivid as in the waking state. If you've ever seen the science fiction movie Matrix you already have an idea of what this world is like: a place that seems real but it's just a projection of the mind.

As the Modus character explains when talking about Matrix: «If you consider what you can feel, smell, taste and see real, the" real "are simply electrical signals interpreted by your brain. Unlike Matrix, lucid dreaming is not science fiction. Imagine being freed from your physical body and leaving behind such small things as gravity. I will visualize flying and doing it literally, notice the air in the face, the weightlessness of the body, while you skip Newton's law. Imagine talking with the inhabitants of the dream, who offer you valuable insights and their knowledge of life. In this place you may find the wisdom and guidance that can transform your life.

Excerpt from the book Lucid Dreams (Ed. Uranus)

Two conscious experiences

I remember that my first lucid dreams took place while I was still studying secondary education (towards the age of twelve) and in almost all of them I appeared walking through the halls of the school. Although everything seemed the same as real life, in the end I had the feeling that something did not fit and that the world I was in might not be real. I finally developed a strategy to verify if I was in fact dreaming or not; "I was looking for" a bathroom and looked inside the toilet. If I saw my own reflection in the cup I knew that I was dreaming and continued to interact with the dream of the conscious. —WILL B

I find myself flying and I realize that I must be in a dream. Once lucid, I slow down and look at the landscape in front of me. I have before me the most beautiful sight I have ever seen. My vision seems to capture all the details in kilometers around. Grassy hills and evergreen trees follow each other on the lower ground, Heaven, oh, heaven! It is painted in pink and orange tones, the most incredible I have ever seen! The Sun in the distance seems to set and the clouds stand out with their vibrant phones. My tears jump for the absolute beauty of such sight. In the middle of the flight, I rest on my back and close my eyes ... I wake up. —RACHEL T.
