The Vedas state that Yoga is the establishment of correspondence between the macro and micro systems of creation. From the earliest times, the essence or the fundamental substance of the universe is worshiped as the cosmic person. Although the dimension of our physical form seems to be small, in essence we are the same as the cosmic person, just as a wave has the same substance as the ocean. We therefore are a microcosm in which the universe can be visualized and experienced.

The cosmic person is the original form in whose image and likeness we have been created. He is the original and we are copies of this prototype; from him, all human forms were made. The cosmic person is called with many names and is described in several ways. In the West they refer to him as the Cosmic Christ or Adam Kadmon, in the East as Vishnu or Purusha.

Pure means city and Purusha means "He who has entered the city . " Purusha is the universal soul, which has entered the many forms and permeates them. Of all the forms in creation, the human form is the most perfect. Many Devas also work in us. The cosmic person descended by his own will and individualized himself. He has entered "the city of nine doors", the body with nine holes (two eyes, two ears and two nostrils, the mouth and the two excretory organs; the female body, which represents nature, has the tenth hole for the child to emerge). The cosmic person lives in us as our essence.

Purusha is the potential of space in every form and surrounds them. The forms circumscribe the space and create a space inside and outside. The individualized soul is limited by time and obtains qualities that it did not have in the unlimited state. The cosmic person is the source of the physical body, but it seems to dissolve itself and lose itself due to the dominance of the physical. Through our ignorance and selfishness we develop many bonds and get stuck. The Purusha should be released again and make it shine.

The spiritual anatomy by the ancient prophets explains the existence of three Purusha planes: the Kshara Purusha, the Akshara Purusha and Purushotama. Kshara Purusha is the mortal, the external man who serves us as a vehicle to experience objectivity. It undergoes change; In each life we have different personalities. Akshara Purusha is the immortal part, the indestructible form of light. He is related to the sun, while Kshara Purusha is related to the planet. Purushotama is the center of God, the cosmic aspect. We can only connect with him through the Akshara Purusha, not from the mundane personality. Purushotama corresponds to Atma, Akshara Purusha to Buddhi and Kshara Purusha to Manas. The 15th chapter of the Bhagavad Gita explains this in detail.

The Being of Thumb Size

The Akshara Purusha is the subtle body of golden light, from which the body of diamond light is formed later. In order to reveal the Akshara Purusha again, who has dissolved in the physical body, an internal heating process called Agni Prachodana or Kundalini Prachodana is used. The fire of Kundalini slowly builds in us the body of light. First it is born as a human form the size of the thumb in the heart center. This form resembles our external form, because in fact it is the origin of the external form. His birth in the heart is the birth in the light or the second birth called Dwijatva. To accelerate this birth is the purpose of initiating children in the Gayatri at the age of 7, called Upanayanam.

The shape of the thumb size tries to detach itself from the body of flesh and blood just as a peanut dissociates from the peanut shell during ripening. The figure shines with faint light at the beginning. Later the light grows brighter and eventually a being develops with a very bright light. In advanced states, the being that was initially the size of the thumb can expand and grow very large or become small at will . You can move out of the body and through the air, or appear to others in your dreams and give them advice. Then, we can leave our bodies and help others.

Being the size of the thumb is the essence of Purushotama. When it detaches itself from the external form, it connects more with the super-soul . The outer man is centered on the solar plexus, the shape of the inner man the size of the thumb on the heart and the cosmic center of Purusha in Sahasrara, the center of the head. Sahasra is also the mantra for Sahasrara, by which the presence of the cosmic person is invoked in us. When the Lord enters the individual, He takes the form of the human being who then becomes a Son of God. This process of the descent of divine grace is called Purushakara; The human becomes one with Purusha. Great souls like Moses, Jesus and Ramanuja have demonstrated this. Such a human being knows exactly that it is the Lord who expresses himself through him, in order to serve, inspire and enlighten people.

The Crucifixion in Space

The Purusha Sukta is the hymn of the Rig Veda that sings the formation and glory of the cosmic person . This is the most important of the 11, 600 hymns of the Rig Veda and is considered the king of the Suktas.

The Purusha Sukta begins with the sound "Sahasra Sirsha Purushaha." The Lord is described as having a thousand heads, a thousand eyes and a thousand feet. This means that the one, the cosmic person exists as the many people. The heads of different people should be meditated as the head of the only person that exists in the various bodies. The head means a vertex of His manifestation. The space globe, the solar globe and the various planetary globes as well as the atoms are their heads.

The Purusha Sukta describes the ritual of how the cosmic person descends voluntarily as a unit of consciousness in the many units. This is also called the ritual of the Total Sacrifice or Sacrifice of Man:

Emerging from the absolute God, the cosmic person descends as God in creation. He forms himself in the form of an egg, the cosmic egg. Then, from the antecedent of the uric egg, or the sphere, what will happen in the creation is formed. This uric egg is called Virat and the inhabitant the Purusha.

From this egg, the Devas of the cosmic plane prepared the cosmic person. They fixed it in space by crucifying it on a four-armed cross. They tied their radiant and bright form to the vertical pole and made it to be sacrificed so that the 7 planes of creation arose from it. Then from their flesh and blood they extracted the quintessence of beings from all over the universe. Through this crucifixion, Purusha sacrifices himself in the cosmos. This means that a part of the unlimited space became seemingly limited and confined.

In the egg form the 27 pre-cosmic principles floated in space without relation to each other ; they could not function for themselves collectively, just as a body remains lifeless without the soul. It is only the descent of the divine essence through the crucifixion of the Purusha that brought the integrated activity through the dwelling consciousness.

The cosmic person is the most complete form and is like the human form, but it has four arms. The four arms symbolize the four aspects or states of creation, of which three quarters are invisible and immortal and only one quarter is visible. Then Purusha as well as each human have four dimensions: existence, awareness of existence, thought and action. Only the field of action is visible and manifest ; This is the fourth step, with which the cosmic man has descended as the fourth in the entire world of objectivity. A fourth forms the manifestation like all created beings of the Lord, while the three quarters exist in eternity says Purusha Sukta.

Symbolism and Visualization

The circle with a central point is also the symbol for Purusha who is represented by the number 1 - the circle is the background and the point is the consciousness that emerges from it. In Purusha Sukta he says that in ten steps he descends into creation. He has manifested himself in the creation in multiples of 10 represented by a 1 with a number of zeros, such as 10 times 10 or 1000. Also there he says he has 10 fingers. The 10 aspects of the four dimensions of Purusha are also represented by the symbol of Dattatreya or the Pythagorean decade .

We can visualize Purusha as the Master of the fourfold existence and imagine him in us as a beautiful human form with a radiant blue light. And then sing the Purusha Sukta. Master EK said that if we regularly sing the hymns, we will find access to the second ray's ashram. Sound, even more than meaning, causes transformations. It was his express wish that all groups that follow the Hierarchy should learn and issue Purusha Sukta and also Sri Sukta, because they do immense good. The more we engage with them, the more our Buddha body matures and the cosmic person is formed in us.
