With the emergence of ethical banking, a new financial system emerges with which we can save and invest, seeking a triple benefit: social, environmental and economic. The association FETS (Finançament Ètic i Solidari) explains the 5 principles that we can place on the basis of ethical finance:

• Principle of Applied Ethics: Ethics as a process of permanent reflection in the application of investment criteria and granting of credits.

• Coherence Principle: Use money in a manner consistent with our values.

• Principle of Participation: Decision making takes place in a democratic way. It is not just about the partners voting, but they have to be able to participate in the definition of the entity's basic policies.

• Principle of Transparency: It is necessary to offer regular and public information on all activities and their consequences.

• Implication Principle: Ethical financing entities have to go beyond the negative criteria and have to define their investment policy following positive criteria in order to transform society.

These principles must be present in each and every one of the activities of the ethical financial entity. An ethical financial entity must be ethical at all levels.

In Spain there are ethical banks, credit unions and associations that promote ethical finance that respond to the principles of social and solidarity economy. Listed below are some outstanding ethical banking options that are currently offering this alternative in Spain:
