Their concerts are group celebrations of peace and joy and love, which epitomize the deep belief of the day that music is a language that unites people, cultures and traditions of the world.

Who are they
Mirabai Ceiba is a duo composed of Markus Sieber (voice and guitar) and Angelika Baumbach (Voice, Harp and piano). They come from different parts of the world. Markus is from East Germany and Angelika was born in Tucson, Arizona and grew up in a small village near Mexico City. His mother is Mexican and his father German.
Markus and Angelika met at a street fair at the Fringe Festival in Scotland, Edinburgh and it was love at first sight. At that time Markus was dedicated to acting successfully and Angelika traveled composing and singing. Thus the couple formed by deciding to share their love with the world through music impregnated with tenderness and beauty and that elevates the spirit.
Together, Markus and Angelika have endeavored to create a new style of devotional music, combining Mantras in Gurumukhi of the Kundalini Yoga tradition, with original songs in Spanish and English that reflect an American Indian influence combined with words of wisdom from Rumi, Thich Nhat Hanh, Guru Nanak and Yogi Bhajan. Through exquisitely CD recordings such as the album A HUNDRED BLESSINGS, Mirabai Ceiba makes a tapestry of these various sources. And this is how music feels, a beneficial and abundant gift of the universe. In concert, they inspire everything present to sing together in a spirit of compassionate love and unity.
Even the name of Mirabai Ceiba personifies both influences from India and Latin America. Mirabai (1498-1547) was a mystical singer from India. His songs express the desire to unify the Individual Being with the Universal Being, represented by Krishna. For Markus and Angelika the name "Mirabai" represents an exploration, devotion and inspiration in all aspects of divinity.
And Ceiba is a sacred tree in Latin America that is never cut and grows very tall. "We want our music to be like the Ceiba, " Markus and Angelika say, "with its roots that go deep into Mother Earth and with its branches that extend far, as far as Father Heaven."
