WORLD MARCH FOR PEACE AND NOVIOLENCE, October 2, 2009 to January 2, 2010

“So that the cry of millions in the world who want Peace and the end of wars can be heard.
So that the forces of Pacifism and NoViolencia are a majority and make their voice felt. ”
It is the first World March that will cover the entire planet calling for an end to wars, nuclear weapons and the elimination of all types of violence.

An action aimed at:

- Achieve the disappearance of nuclear weapons; the progressive and proportional reduction of armament; the signing of non-aggression treaties between countries; the resignation of governments to use wars as a means to resolve conflicts.

- Rescue the best of the diverse cultures and peoples of the Earth.

- Bringing together the will of the entire civil society to permanently eliminate the social scourge of wars.

- Generate a global social conscience against all forms of violence (physical, economic, racial, religious, cultural, sexual, psychological) as established and accepted as inevitable by society.
A global conscience that acts as a general repulsion towards all forms of violence.

Why?

Because hunger in the world can be resolved with 10% of what is spent on armament. Can we imagine how it would be if 30, or 50%, were destined to improve people's lives instead of spending it on destruction?

Because eliminating wars and violence means leaving definitively human pre-history and taking a giant step in the evolutionary path of our species.

Because in this aspiration we are accompanied by the strength of the voices of so many previous generations that suffered the consequences of wars whose echo continues to be heard today in all places where armed conflicts continue to leave their sinister trail of the dead, missing, disabled, refugees and displaced.

Because a world without wars is a proposal that opens the future and aspires to
take shape in every corner of the planet where the dialogue replaces violence.

The time has come to make the voice of the voiceless! Millions of human beings call for necessity to end wars and violence.
We can achieve this by uniting all the forces of Pacifism and the active NoViolence of the world.

When?

It will begin in New Zealand on October 2, 2009, the anniversary of Gandhi's birth and declared by the United Nations International NoViolence Day .

It will end in the Andes Mountains (Punta de Vacas, Aconcagua, Argentina) on January 2, 2010. It will last 90 days, three long months of travel.

It will pass through all climates and seasons, from the summer of tropical and desert areas to the Siberian winter.

Who participates

The march is an initiative of World without Wars, an international organization that has been working for 15 years in the field of Pacifism and NoViolence.

However, the World March will be built among all. It is open to the participation of every person, organization, collective, group, political party, company, etc., that shares the sensitivity of this project. Thus, it is not a question of something closed, but of a route that will be enriched thanks to the activities that are implemented according to the different initiatives.

That is why we invite active participation, so that everyone contributes their creativity to the passage of the MM through each place, in a convergence of multiple activities with room for everything that the imagination is capable of conceive.

It is a march of the people and for the people, which aims to reach the majority of the world's population. That is why all the media are summoned to spread this round the world for Peace and NoViolence.

What is going to be done

When passing through the cities, all kinds of forums, meetings, festivals, conferences and events (sports, cultural, social, musical, artistic, educational, etc.) will be organized and organized according to Initiatives arise in each place.

At the moment there are already hundreds of projects that different people and organizations have launched.

For what

To denounce the dangerous world situation that is leading us towards wars with nuclear weapons, a dead end and the greatest human catastrophe in history.

To give voice to the majority of the world's citizens who are not in favor of wars or the arms race. We all suffer the consequences of the manipulation of a few because we do not give a united signal.

It is time for everyone to show their position, their rejection.

Join your signal to that of many others and your voice will have to be heard!

To achieve: the disappearance of nuclear weapons; the progressive proportional reduction of armament; the signing of non-aggression treaties between countries; the resignation of governments to use wars as a means to resolve conflicts.

To highlight other multiple forms of violence (economic, racial, sexual, religious) hidden or disguised by those who provoke them, and to provide those who suffer a channel to be heard.

To, in the same way that has happened with ecology, create global awareness of the need for true peace and repudiation of all types of violence.
