The Laudato Si is an encyclical of the vast amount that exists in the Catholic religion that was made and coordinated by Pope Francis, the current leader of the Catholic Church. Only.

a scientific and moral appreciation

Beyond the religious court in which it is located, the most important thing is the courageous vision of the Pope to address the ecological deterioration that some conscious and some unconscious face today. . As expected it has already had detractors regarding its content and scientific appreciation, it should be noted that the Pope is limited to placing the problem from the moral approach supported by the contribution of a group of scientific specialists that support the problem such as environmental pollution due to noise, gaseous and intoxicating agents, garbage, global warming, the problem at the poles and the lack of respect for wildlife and flora, it has no other meaning than maintaining balance in the ecosystem.

"My house ... our house ..."

But what the Pope refers to with "my house ... our house", is really that we all have a place where we live individually or family and the planet that is the house we all inhabit, so we may not let us throw litter in the house where our family lives, we have a pet that we care for and possibly a few plants that adorn our home, we take care of it, we clean it and we rebuild it continuously, however this does not transcend abroad to what we no longer It is part of our house or the place we inhabit, isn't it?

Many people litter and pollute what apparently does not belong to them or is not their responsibility, the great news is that the planet, our environment and nature are our responsibility, we can understand this simply or see it from the perspective of the cause and effect in which undoubtedly the most damaged we will be the most unconscious and responsible for the deterioration. The law of cause and effect is infallible and what will return to us is the damage we cause to the fair extent in which we participate.

In this sense, what is known as collective Karma operates, we all contribute to an action of deterioration or benefit with the environment and receive the effect of the part or dimension in which we participate. So somehow we can think that the planet, nature, the environment and wild animals are not our responsibility which is nothing but a wrong point of view, for which we will receive the consequence of agreement and in the proportion of the damage we cause .

destructive and constructive actions

So let us take into account that the law of cause and effect is expansive and that also the effect of our constructive or destructive actions can be increased to the extent that others become complicit in the damage or collaboration.

In the encyclical the Pope makes a special note about the selfishness that predominates and is visible by only noticing the unhealthy conditions in which we live and how convenient we ignore, this is how my house is well and the house of all our planet is not a matter neither mine nor anyone else's.

We do not think about future generations or our present, it is common and sad at the same time to observe that in countries that face environmental contingencies people analyze the problem from the self and mine the structure of egocentrism in which they complain about not using the car, they do not share it to avoid emitting more toxic gases, they cut the few trees that remain because they do not look pretty in the front of their house and do not care about the birds of the green areas that also need to breathe.

The issue of water that we treat as a renewable resource and that is automatically purified is also addressed, we throw garbage into the sea, organic and chemical waste, as if this were not going to return to us in one way or another. The news is that it does return, in toxic tides that harm bathers and can cause severe skin infections.

common sense issue

Anyway, it is more than a matter of doctrine, it is a matter of common sense, of compassion and of common benefit, let us be aware as mentioned in the encyclical and I agree that we have an enormous intellectual and altruistic power to correct the course, it is our nature, who does not like to live comfortable, safe and in a healthy environment? ... we include our planet as part of our house, but we do so a way of life that resembles a table with a broken leg that does not prevail It will be in balance until we pay attention, otherwise sooner or later it will break.

A small action generates a large amount of positive merit that will be reflected in our quality of life in a collective and personal way, the destructive also generates negative consequences at the collective and individual level, let's not be selfish and if not for compassion at least for common sense We all should be well and happy ... because the deterioration although we pretend not to notice it does not generate anything other than suffering and we are here to be happy, right ?.
