The prophecy

« There is an ancient prophecy present in many traditions. She tells us about the end of an Age based on materialism and the beginning of another, centered on spirituality. »

The Prophecy in the Tarot

THE LARGE ARCANA XVII of the tarot, called the “Star”, shows us a naked woman, pouring water from two pitchers, with a 16-pointed star shining in the center of the sky, and an ibis bird that observes prostrate on the glass of a tree. This arcane symbolizes the wisdom and vision of a new future. It announces the dawn, and in the tarot it is linked to the sign of Aquarius.

She seems to symbolize the Greek goddess Themis, daughter of Uranus (Heaven) and Gaia (Earth). Themis, called Ma'at in ancient Egypt, represents justice, and hence the word magistrate . Therefore, it often appears blindfolded (impartiality), holding a sword in one hand (ability to discriminate), and a balance in the other (balance). And yet Themis does not symbolize the justice imparted by the human being, which can often be arbitrary, but that which arises from the natural order, from the cosmic balance, from the understanding of the laws that govern nature.

The dawn that announces " The Star " came preceded by an awakening, which occurred during the letter XVI, called " the Tower ." The Tower represents the awakening of the mirage of materialism, the apocalypse, word of Greek origin that just means " uncover the veil, realize, or reveal ." And the materiality from which we wake up is symbolized in the previous letter, the XV, called " the Devil ." It was an internal awakening, and in turn collective; an awakening that is actually taking place at the moment, as I write these lines in April 2012.

Letter XVII (The Star) thus promises us a future of harmony, if we achieve that the light prevails in each of our hearts. Letter XVI (The Tower) brings us the divine message, so that we wake up from the dream of materiality, so that we uncover the veil that covers our inner light. We are prophesied by an awakening that will be caused by the Sun star, apparently in the form of a solar eruption, from which we will realize that we have based our entire civilization and way of life on a technological illusion. The mind projected all these devices, making us forget that we really were Spirit.

In the card XVII (The Star) of the tarot also appears an Ibis bird, symbol of Tot, the scribe of the gods, called Hermes in the Greek tradition or Mercury in the Roman. The ibis is prostrated on the Axis Mundi or Axis of the World and that this time it appears to us represented in the form of a tree, but that in many other occasions it is also represented as a mountain. He observes the work done, once the awakening took place.

The Phoenix

IBIS AVE also represents Bennu, called Phoenix by the Greeks, and that the ancient Egyptians linked to the rising sun, the city of Heliopolis (city of the sun in Greek) and the god Sun Ra. In this mythology the bird prostrated itself on the Benben, the primordial mountain, from which it observes each new dawn. This mountain again symbolizes the Axis Mundi, that central point from which we can access both the world below and the one above.

According to various myths and legends, the Phoenix lived five hundred years. For example, he tells Epistle to the Corinthians of Clement of Rome “ There is a bird, called a phoenix. This is the only one of its kind, it lives five hundred years (...) Then the priests examine the records of the times, and find that it has come when the five hundred years have passed . After 500 years she herself threw herself into the funeral pyre, to be reborn five hundred years later with all its splendor and live for another five hundred years. The myth of the Phoenix seems to refer to the process of civilization boom and decline, which has historically been observed to follow cycles of five centuries.

« Itzam-Yeh » the Celestial Bird

BETWEEN THE MAYAS, the bird that prostrates on the Axis Mundi is called Itzam-Yeh or Heavenly Bird, and the Axis Mundi is the Wakah-Chan, the cosmic tree or the cross tree . Itzam Yeh is the totemic animal of Itzam Na, the supreme God, the essence of the creative force of the cosmos. It is, therefore, Itzam Na, manifesting himself as a bird in allusion to the world above.

Quetzalcoatl

THE VARIOUS PEOPLES of Anawak (Mesoamerica) also represented the Cosmic Tree with a Quetzal or prostrate bird on its crown. On the left we see Quetzalcoatl, the feathered serpent, while the one on the right is Xochipilli, the prince of flowers. They evoke the unifying movement, descending to the world below ( Quetzalcoatl ) and ascending to the world above ( Xochipilli) . Hence the Cosmic tree is the Axis Mundi, which unites the three worlds, also symbolizes the Milky Way, and finally the spine in the human being, with the lateral energy channel through which the energy rises and the other through which it descends. A similar image is observed on the second page of the Selden codex.

Quetzalcoatl's Departure

QUETZALCOATL ALSO IS the Nahuatl title granting the supreme priest, whose lineage is restored from the manifestation of various historical prophets, the last of which was Topiltzin, king of Tula . Topiltzin died throwing himself at his own funeral pyre, near the coast of Coatzacoalcos, current state of Veracruz. People say that:

When he burned, his heart rose from the ashes, and all the beautiful birds that soar the sky came to see him. His heart ascended, glowing like a jade, and entered into heaven. And the old men say that he became the star that rises at dawn (Annals of Cuauhtitlan).

According to the chronicler Diego de Landa, such an event occurred on the last day of the twenty of Xul, equivalent to November 12 in the year 999. We observe in the self-immolation of Quetzalcoatl in the fire a clear parallel with the myth of the Phoenix. It is also said that four years later he returned from the world of the dead or the world below, just the time needed to announce that he would return one day. He did this by saying:

Rejoice! A new day is approaching, the magnificent day, of radiant beauty, when I have to return to my face. Then you will see me! On that day you will understand the divine reasons, I will raise my harvest and reap what is sown. Then the evil animal will disappear forever and you can walk in peace. [8. Frank Díaz “The Gospel of the Feathered Serpent” Editorial Volume. Mexico 2000.]

With that new reincarnation of Quetzalcoat l, that is, with the birth of Topiltzin, a new civilization cycle began that lasted ten New Fires, equivalent to 520 years since each New Fire lasts 52 years. This figure corresponds to the synchronization cycle between the solar year and the Tzolk'in (Mayan) or Tonalpohualli (Aztec) calendar of 260 days. That is, every 52 solar years both calendars start again at the moment when the Sun is at the same point of the ecliptic, that is, on the same day of the year. We observe in these cycles of 5 centuries and specifically of 520 years a second parallel with the myth of the Phoenix.

The arrival of his twin brother

It was EXACTLY 10 New Fires after or after 520 solar years since the departure of Quetzalcoatl in 999, which Hernán Cortés arrived on the coasts of the Yucatan to conquer the lands we currently call Mexico during the same year. This happened concretely in February of 1519. The day of 520 years started by the last reincarnation of the feathered serpent ended, beginning a night that would last the same period of time.

There are those who say that Moctezuma saw in Hernán Cortés the return of Quetzalcoatl . And yet I am inclined to think that he really saw in him not Quetzalcoatl but Xolotl, his twin brother .. Xólotl was the god of fire and symbolized the star (Venus) of the dusk, the one who protects the Sun when at night he Enter the underworld. According to Anawak mythology, he gave the human being knowledge. In the Bible he is represented by Lucifer (the one who gives the light), the snake that tempts Eve to eat the fruit of the forbidden tree. While Quetzalcoatl is linked to the morning star, they tell the legends that when he died he became the morning Venus. He who departed in 999 announced the beginning of the day: Quetzalcoatl (divine expression) , Topiltzin (his human reincarnation), or the Morning Star (celestial manifestation); while the one who arrived in 1419 announced the beginning of the night: Xólotl (divine expression), Hernan Cortes (his human reincarnation), or the star of dusk (celestial manifestation).

The Wiracocha Road

BETWEEN THE INKAS, each 500-year cycle is called pachakuti, a word that in Quechua literally means: space-time ( pacha ) upside down or inverted ( cuti ). Pachakuti thus refers to the cosmic inversion of space-time that takes place every five centuries, when it goes from civilization day to night, or vice versa.

The arrival of Pizarro to Inka lands about seven years after Hernan Cortes arrived in Mexican lands marked the end of a day that had begun with the first of the twelve Inkas monarchs, called Manco Cápac, words that literally mean the ruler ( Manco ) fair ( Cápac ). And like the Aztecs, the Inkas knew that the end of a period and the beginning of their night phase were coming. Not by chance, Pizarro and his minions arrived right at the coast in which centuries before Wiracocha, the prophet of those lands, disappeared walking on the waters. Hence its name of foam ( wira ) and lake or sea ( cocha ). Wirachocha appeared on the waters of Lake Titicaca, to move on a diagonal of 45 degrees, which crosses Cusco and Cajamarca, and disappear over the waters of the sea of Tumbes, in the Pacific Ocean.

Hence it should not surprise us that when Pizarro undertook the same path, but of descent, in search of the gold of Cusco, the Incas knew that for them the long night of the five hundred years was beginning. That is why Pizarro was able to conquer an entire empire with 168 soldiers and 37 horses. Like the Xólotl of the Aztecs, the star of the afternoon, the one that appears with the sunset to accompany our star to the underworld, Pizarro descended on the Wiracocha road to report that it was getting dark in America at the time the sun was rising in Europe, after the long medieval night.

Venus transits

WE SEE HOW THE Diverse civilizations, both Andean and Mesoamerican, were fully aware of the cycles that govern history, the rise and civilization decline, which follows a cycle of approximately 500 years. It was a knowledge that, as we can see in the legend of the Phoenix, was also recognized by the ancient Egyptians, Persians or Greeks, among others.

These periods are linked to the transits of Venus. Astronomically, the apparent passage of the two inner planets (Mercury and Venus) in front of the solar vault is called transit. Such transits occur in pairs, separated eight years from each other, each pair being between 105.5 and 121.5 years. The most recent transit of Venus had its descending node on June 8, 2004 and its ascending pair is scheduled for June 6, 2012. If we return 1040 years to the past, we find the date 972, five years before Topiltzin was appointed king of Tula. The solar calendar and the Tonalpowalli or 260-day cycle are synchronized every 1040 years. The synoptic cycle of the Moon and the solar year are also synchronized. And finally it corresponds to half of the synchronization period between the synoptic cycle of Venus and the solar year, which is 2080 years. The 1040 year cycle was so important among the Anawak cultures that it was called the Toltec millennium, with its 520 daytime and 520 nighttime.

Sixteen days before June 6, 2012, another astronomical phenomenon of great importance is taking place: an angular eclipse of the Sun belonging to the Saros 128 series. The eclipse with which the series began took place on August 29, 984 AD, when Topiltzin was already king of Tula. We observe a whole set of astronomical events that link us to a period in which the previous reincarnation of Quetzalcoatl began to be recognized as such.

The Return of Quetzalcoatl

BEFORE HIS departure, Quetzalcoatl announced:

Rejoice! A new day is approaching, the magnificent day, of radiant beauty, when my face has to return. Then you will see me! On that day you will understand the divine reasons, I will raise my harvest and reap what has been sown. Then the evil animal will disappear forever and you can walk in peace- [15. Frank D az The Feathered Serpent Gospel Editorial Volume. Mexico 2000.]

We saw that in the tarot that evil animal was represented by the card XV (The Devil). In the Apocalypse of St. John is represented by the Beast, whose number is 666 and that in Roman numerals is written DCLXVI, that is D (500) + C (100) + L (50) + X (10) + V (5) + I (1). In order to constitute said number, all the symbols of the Roman numeration have been used minus the M, which is equivalent to 1000. It seems that it is referring to the act of counting, of quantifying everything, to give a monetary value to both the material and the immaterial, and even to life, something that the Market does by definition.

May it not surprise us that in Mesoamerica the return of Quetzalcoatl is expected, and that there are those who predict it for the period of the transit of Venus ahead of the celestial sphere on June 6. The prophecy says that during the time he is with us back:

At that time, the peoples will be asked to give a loving marriage at the golden gate, and the people will marry in the house of the four directions. Then they will ask us to stand (on) our sandals so that we can spiritualize. Behold, the world awakens with this union; Behold, we are already standing.

This text belongs to Chilam Balam, and is an announcement of Katun 4 Ajau, the eleventh katun of the account, which began on September 21, 1618 and ends on December 23, 2012. It is said that:

Chich n Itsa is the seat of that katun. Itsaes will return to its city, (word that means `` water bricks '' and that denotes the founders of the city of Chichen Itza). I will sell the quetzal. The renewal will come. The place of the Four Trees will arrive. The one who shed his blood will come. I will come Quetzalcoatl, the Plumed Serpent. And with them again it will come Itsa . It is the word of God

The White Heron

On June 1 of this year (2012) a white heron was established in the pond located in the central square of the National Museum of Anthropology of Mexico. This happened on the dates that mediated between the angular eclipse of May 20, at which time according to the tradition the decline in the critical energy of the feathered serpent, and on June 6, at which time it was scheduled to culminate this energy decline.

The eclipse of May 20 was linked to the beginning of the descent because it occurred just when the sun was in conjunction with the Pleiades. Mayan mythology called the Pleiades the rattlesnake, and this point represents the zero degrees of its ecliptic, similar to how for the West the ecliptic begins at 0º Aries. The Pleiades symbolize the starting point and the tail of the snake. While as we saw, the transit of Venus on June 6 would be linked to the culmination of the return of Quetzalcoatl, the Plumed Serpent.

That a white heron appears for the first time in the middle of the anthropology museum of Mexico would not have greater significance if it were not for the following two reasons:

  1. The legend of the Mexica ( Aztecs ) tells that they came from Aztlan, a mythical land located further north. The word Aztlan means just "place of the heron",
  2. René Guenón wrote in one of his works “ The ideographic sign of Aztlan or Tula was the white heron; the heron and the stork play in the West the same role as the ibis in the East, and these three birds are among the emblems of Christ; ibis was, among the Egyptians, one of the symbols of the Thoth, that is, of Wisdom ”(Names and Symbolic Representations of the Spiritual Centers).

The white heron that nested for the first time in the national museum of anthropology seems to be the finding that Quetzalcoatl made his descent and that his energy is now among us.

The Return of the Inkarri

IN THE ANDES there is a similar myth called Inkarri, a word derived from the Inka Rey contraction. The myth says that when Pizarro, on his downward route along the Wiracocha road to Cusco, captured the last Inka (Atawallpa) in Cajamarca, he amputated his head and sent it to Spain, as proof of his death. Instead his body dismembered it into four parts, which he buried in the four cardinal points or in the four suyus (regions) of the incanato. This is where the myth is transformed into a prophecy by narrating how its four limbs are growing, seeking to meet again, and that when the head returns from where it was taken and joins the four extremities, the spirit of the inkarri will return to be with us to restore the Tawantinsuyu (four regions of the Sun), the ancient Inca State.

The four growing parts seems to constitute an allegory to the "marriage of the peoples of the Earth" of which Quetzalcoatl spoke to us. In the aforementioned allegory, each member buried in a cardinal direction would symbolize the different peoples of the Earth linked to that direction, while their growth symbolizes the increase in the number of us who will seek and desire that marriage. It constitutes a union that is formalized in a specific place. Quetzalcoatl called it "the temple of the four directions", while among the Q'ero, descendants of the Inkas, it is called the " Mastay ." The prophecy of the Mastay speaks to us of the "reintegration among the people of the four directions" with which a new era of peace and harmony begins, which they call " Taripay Pacha " (time of reunion with ourselves).

The prophecies of the Q'ero tell us that the first Inka Mallku (Sage Inka) will emerge and be recognized during the pilgrimage of the Lord of Qoylluriti, The prophecy narrates that then that first sage will be reunited with the remaining ones, until completing the number of twelve, half of which will be men and the other women. At this point, the prophecy seems to unite with many others that predict the future flowering of the Tawantinsuyu and how that area will inspire the entire world. An example is in the prophecy that Santa Rosa de Lima delivered four centuries ago.

Place, date and method

WE OBSERVE HOW A prophecy mentions the possible place: the pilgrimage of the Lord of Qoylluriti, which takes place just before Corpus Cristi, a holiday celebrated 60 days after Holy Week. And yet he doesn't mention in what year. While the prophecy of the return of Quetzalcoatl is linked to a possible date: June 6, 2012, during the transit of Venus ahead of the Sun. And yet, this year 2012 the culminating day of the pilgrimage of the Lord of Qoylluriti It will be on June 6.

He said that, even at the anecdotal level, if it is important to keep in mind that we cannot expect anyone, be it an individual or a group, to do the work for us. The Age we just entered is that of Aquarius, a zodiac sign that opposes Leo's. If it were Leo, we could expect that messianic and charismatic leader to lead us and help us all, and yet Aquarius tells us that the spirit must govern us, that is, the desire to carry out things in a certain way. It tells us that we must constitute organizational formulas around the concept of the network, reciprocal solidarity and both planetary and universal consciousness. That we must make the decisions in an organic, fluid way and based on the consensus of those whom they affect.

In the seventeenth card of the tarot, called the Star, with which this article began appeared that seems to symbolize the Greek goddess Themis . In ancient Greece, she watched over community affairs, especially assemblies, to ensure that decisions were reached by consensus. Hence, Themis has not returned to rule but to teach us to live again in harmony with the environment, so that the vital energy flows again filling the bed of a river that has either dried up or we have contaminated it. She comes for us to learn to make decisions together, forming assemblies and forming networks, and without the need to be governed. To achieve this we must not invent anything, but simply emulate nature. Emulate our body, in which trillions of cells coexist and are organized, without some sending over the others. And that we are only seven billion.
