In nature the cycles are repeated again and again, as a ritual . In the cold of winter, nature takes a rest, the trees leave their leaves, the animals hibernate, the day is shortened. Then spring comes, to renew hope while the temperature slowly increases and plants and animals begin to bloom to seek to reproduce. Summer brings energy and full life, plants full of leaves and ripe fruits, invites us to be outdoors and eat lighter. Then the fall, once again the stillness is installed, the leaves begin to dry and everything starts again.

Likewise, the earth revolves around the sun always the same, the day precedes the night, the tides have their times.

In the same way, the moon has its cycle, it is twenty-eight days in which it changes its form and its energy . And according to Ayurveda, traditional Hindu medicine, the moon cycle has a direct influence and a close relationship with women . It is said that man is solar and woman is lunar.

The energy of the moon is feminine. It is equated with the female ovulation cycle, which is also twenty-eight days. The Shakti Prana, or feminine energy of each woman exists in her womb, and in ancient feminine traditions, the rituals of women around the moon had great importance and wisdom. Every month the woman has the opportunity to part with toxic emotions, and physical blockages that are no longer useful . The body performs an energy cleaning and rejuvenates with each period. Taking into account the changes that occur helps us to live in harmony with ourselves and our ancestral energy.

It is said that in each woman four different women coexist in a lunar cycle:

The woman of the new moon

When there is a new moon, formerly it was said that it was the natural time of menstruation, time of purification. Women gathered to share this sacred moment and respect the moment of low energy in sync with the harmony of nature. It is a time of reflection, of introspection, of rest.

In this period it is advised that you feed with simple meals and it is a good time to write in a journal the intentions for the rest of the month.

The woman of the Moon in a growing room

As the moon grows, the energy increases and the intentions, the questions we have asked ourselves and the internal contemplations begin to take shape. This stage symbolizes the maturation of the ovule.

The woman of the full moon

This is the moment when the woman is stronger and more energetic, according to the teaching of Ayurveda. It is the culminating moment of the intentions that were created in the new moon. It is time to carry out social activities, start new projects, overcome obstacles, using external energy, turning towards the outside and doing your best. The shakti prana is at its highest level.

The woman of the Moon in waning room

It is a time of slow withdrawal, the woman must be gentle with herself, she must calm her energy and conserve it to start a new cycle.

Every woman has experienced these four moon phases physically, emotionally or spiritually. Understanding how we are related to the moon, being in harmony and acceptance with our feminine and hormonal cycle, gives us a pattern that we are part of nature and can live with greater harmony and peace if we align with it.

In the words of Sri Swamini Mayatitananda, or Mother Maya: " A disease can only remain in a woman when her shakti is exhausted and her rhythms are out of sync with mother moon."

Respect your feminine nature and honor your ancestral woman, in this way you will illuminate your essence and what it means to be a woman. Namaste
