La Felicidad, by Jorge Carvajal.

Attached we present the transcript of the talk that Jorge Carvajal gave on February 21 at the Colegio de los Agustinos in Madrid, under the title "Believe and create rules to re-enchant life."

We could shut up, look into each other's eyes and smile. We could find in those eyes a deep humanity and enter that territory of magic that is the territory of life. We might believe that we live beyond existing, despite our cancer, despite our pain.

Despite our small miseries there is so much greatness in the human seed. There is so much in us waiting to be, to bear fruit, to love. There is so much humanity waiting for us at the borders, so much humanity waiting for a meeting between the North and the South, between the East and the West, in order to find that sun from the center of the human being.

There is so much in us waiting to reveal, recreate, bear fruit. We are seed and from that infinite potential, from that inner ocean we can re-enchant life. We can recreate ourselves and thus have fun and enjoy.

What if we all suddenly thought that the meaning of life is happiness? What if we dared to be happy? How would that be What would be the ingredients of happiness? If we could identify with the being we are and not with the shadow, appearance or dependence?

What if suddenly we were again what we are, authentic creators of our own days? If we could enter fully into that deep river of life that inhabits us at every moment, to find currents of love in that channel?

If we could wake up that loving torrent that lives in our blood. If we could find the strength of our own identity and thus complete each other? If we could, like Pablo Neruda, say: "Rise with me to be born, brother"?

If we could come into us and accept to recognize and love each other? Stop looking for God abroad and know that he was there in us, waiting for us in our own hearts with his infinite potential. If the only party we took were in favor of the human being and our only religion, the religion of love, and our only method, the brotherhood method? We would discover that each thing, each event is a teacher with the soul as an apprentice.

If we get off the pedestals of pride, mastery and materialism of a repeated life and invent life and become humble and return to innocence and our innocence was not a naive innocence, but conscious? Then we would be like children again, because the Kingdom of innocence is the Kingdom of Heaven and that Kingdom is in us and is a temple of relationships.

If we look at pain and disease as a Master? If we learned the lesson and beyond guilt and beyond the burden could we release the lightness of that learning and with that lightness ascend?

There are human beings who believed in impossible and performed them. There is Ghandi, Simón Bolívar, Mother Teresa. There they are with the nakedness of their authenticity. They had no more shield than their conscience of love, their open heart, dreamers of impossible who revealed to us that the impossible are realized when we believe in us. When we believe in ourselves, we activate the potential of a God who is not external, but who is internal, a God who accompanies us and gives us his current and strength.

Is it possible to be happy? Yes, it is possible, despite the pain, because pain is not the opposite of happiness. It is possible to be happy despite death, death is not the opposite of life. It is possible to be happy despite the sadness, sadness is not the opposite of joy. Happiness is that slight feeling of compassion and acceptance that takes you through the path of being.

Happiness is that unconditional feeling in which you love because you feel like it, because yes, because it rains, because it is sunny; In any case without any conditions. Happiness can only start from you. It is not foreign, it does not depend on your economy. People in Europe today have an economy twice as high as thirty years ago, but they are twice as unhappy. Happiness does not depend on knowledge. Heartless knowledge is totally destructive, it does not depend on any external recognition. Suddenly you acquire a cancer and discover that inner state from which you can also be happy. Happiness is an inner construction, part of an inner paradise. Paradise is no stranger, you paint it and then enter it. You create it and recreate it.

In happiness there is no outer God. You are in the image and likeness of that Creator who speaks in your word, looks in your eyes and loves with your love. Could we then glimpse our path to happiness? Yes. That path is a return path. It is a path of consciousness. It is a path that liberates. It is not made of dependencies.

Nothing that binds you, nothing that ties you, nothing that leads by the way of the pleasure of the senses, that leads you to power., Leads to happiness. More power does not give more happiness, it gives more dependence. More pleasure does not build more happiness. More living for the senses makes you lose consciousness. Happiness is a path to meaning, it is a path that begins inside and ends inside, when you discover with quantum physics, but also with human experience that the universe is interior . You are the center of the universe when you are aware of yourself.

Happiness starts from attention and attention is the fundamental use of consciousness. When you are attentive you focus. When you are attentive, you own your own potential. When you are attentive, you generate a laser with your own conscience and in this consciousness you inhabit and have movement, life and being. When you are attentive, you build a small interior space that connects you to the infinite. When you are attentive you build the instant and in that instant you are eternal. When you are attentive, you recognize yourself and you are born again of yourself and you are the childbirth and the midwife, you are the Creator, because you are born of you and return to your consciousness.

Attention is the most important moment of consciousness, it is the moment of creation in which we discover the present, it is the time of synchronicity, the time of resonance. One is born of his own death. One is born to the present by the renunciation of the past, by unleashing the life of the conditioning of the past. We have life mortgaged with expectations towards the future and then we miss the place of life that is this moment. This moment is sacred because in this instant the being lives. There is no having there, there is no pleasure, there only the being is bustling and that being is what we are: infinite potential that inhabits us, God as immanent as transcendent. That Universal God is internalized in us and turns life into something magical. That God humanizes us and redeems us. That God allows the mineral kingdom to sing and dance and for the vegetable kingdom to flourish and for the animal kingdom to feel. That God allows the human being to have the wings of thought and from the wings of thought restore intuition, the vision of totality. From that vision of totality we join again in the wonderful Path of Return to the Creator.

The first step to happiness is authenticity. Authenticity is a genuine identity, it is a unique, original identity, it is the identity that makes us whole. Life is creative when it is unique. Life is art, it is enjoyed, it is invented at every moment. When you are unique you live the magic of love. Love is not spent, it is not repetitive, love is not fatigued, love is not routine, nor condition. It is a magnetic, attractive force that renews you every moment.

When you can renew yourself every moment you are unique and then you are a work of art of the Creator. When you are unique or unique you realize that you are important, because you are unrepeatable, because you have no possible competition, because you leave the absurd world of competitiveness, because you can share, you can give and surrender without fear of losing yourself and in each giving you are going to renew yourself, you will complete yourself and in addition you will complete the other with your eyes, with your hug, with your word, with your silence, with your company, with your presence. So you can enjoy life. First key to happiness: yes as you; not like anyone else, unique, unrepeatable and original.

Give your own note in the symphony of creation, that note that is necessary. No two human beings like you. The Creator needs you and you are a unique facet of the Creator. The Creator lives in the diversity of the world, his unity is made of diversity. When you do not pretend to be like anyone but yourself, then you discover that beautiful current of the Creator within you, and you enter the wonderful world of your land, of your solidity, the world of your root, of your sap. When you do not pretend to be like anybody you enter the place from which you can be born. If you do not have that uterus that is giving you, which is your own identity, if you do not accept yourself, if you do not love yourself, if you do not affirm anything you can find. Self-affirm that you are that unique potential in which the Creator is waiting to reveal himself.

Self-sign to complete me, to complete the universe, to complete as a father to the son and as a son to the mother and as a brother to humanity. That is the self-affirmation.

This would not be possible if you had not forgiven yourself. The hardest thing at the moment of death is guilt, it is not cancer, it is not pain. The most painful thing is the fear of the beyond, the hell of that false belief that there is a punishing God, the hidden fear that God cannot forgive you, that he will not forgive you. But God is love and where there is love there can be no judgment. If He has already forgiven you, you could also forgive yourself. The judgment is within you, hell is within you and you have built it.

However you could build a first paradise and starting point. The question is: do you count on yourself, appreciate yourself, value yourself, recognize yourself? That is the first step on the path of happiness. It is a step inwards. Find yourself with you, in your center, in your heart. Take a deep breath and feel the wonder of life. The sun shines for you, the birds sing for you and the air and the magic of the morning blow for you. The universe celebrates your presence when you appear before you. Then you discover your face, which is none other than that of love. You recover your power and enter into communion.

You live in joy and lightness and you no longer have the weight of the body, of guilt, of conditioning. You accept your lights and your shadows. You accept yourself as a beautiful twilight, a beautiful dawn. You discover how St. Augustine discovered sincere before the Christ: “I loved you too late, too late. I was far from You, but now I recognize myself in You, because You are part of me and you are inside me. ”

We lost the outer paradise and we went down the path of the victim until we finally built a faith that is no longer external, that is rooted inside and we began to trust and trust us.

The starting point is identity. Be like you, unique, original and creative. Thus you will be recognized by all, because you will complete us all. You will enter that wonderful universe of sensitivity to need. You will be authentic, you will recognize in you the essential. What is essential is what you can give, because what is not given is lost.

You will recognize the keynote of a heart that is born and dies every moment. Death and rebirth of the heart is systole and diastole, it lasts only one second. In every second the heart is given whole. If the heart kept a drop in every second in an hour we would have heart failure. It would be beautiful if we could attend to that law of the heart and in every second, from your identity, deliver and bear fruit without measure. That sweet fruit of your life was made to give.

When you already have your land and your paradise, multiply your seeds, because thus giving you they are released and it is giving as we receive. When we meet we discover our genuine identity, our land, our paradise. When there is a me, you appear. Between the you and the self a movement of resonance, of coherent communication, of dialogue is generated. There is an intelligence that represents your ability to adapt to life. There is no spiritual intelligence, separate from molecular intelligence. It is a dynamic and adaptive intelligence. Your ability to adapt to life.

The second movement towards happiness is adaptability. Adapt to life, to change, to the flow. Do not resist because you produce heat, wear your energy. Do not overheat. The world of wear is the world of entropy. When you don't resist, life passes through you and refreshes and fertilizes you. When you stay in the territory of the self, you limit yourself to personal growth, to spiritual pride. When you do a thousand things to grow even if nobody grows up, even if the earth is a desert, you really go, even if you call it spirituality, by the path of the cliff.

You need the other to look at you, to recognize yourself to observe yourself in that mirror and to be able to modify yourself and grow into a new being. That new land of yours has been fertilized by you, when you, it fits in the self then the wonder of a we arises. And then He arrives, because he already said “When you are two and my name, there I will be”. In that we find the son, the conscience. In that we, in that relationship territory, interaction is born.

The key to happiness is an understanding. The body is a pattern of relationship. That relational support determines the quality of your life. In that relational territory trust is born. In our studies we have found that where there is more trust in others, in the neighbor, next door, in the ruler, in the entrepreneur., Where there is more confidence because there is more transparency and more honesty, there is also a greater happiness

Our land is vulnerable and can thus germinate. We are also vulnerable and then we can adapt. Our adaptability is our best strength. We can air our vulnerable land and in it build the groove and in it sow the seed. A permeable land is permeated by water, only a vulnerable land can cease to be desert.

What is our vulnerability made of? It is made of flexibility. We do not have to be perfect. When we are authentic and at the same time we are flexible we can germinate. When the seed of life, when the purpose of the soul germinate then we can realize ourselves.

The second key is therefore humility. Humility is the key to learning, only from humility can we open our hearts. Only from humility can we sensitize our skin, all our skins, the skin of our mental field, our emotional field and open it to the caress of the cosmos. Vulnerability, humility and flexibility are the keys to the new life, to recover the power to be serve and enjoy, to become the mature fruit of life. Pride prevents us from enjoying, because pride separates us. Pride divides and destroys the territory of consciousness, which is the territory of us.

Two movements thus far: The internal self that leads us to authenticity and secondly the adaptability to reach you and build a we.

There comes the third condition for happiness, the most difficult of all: life changes and everything dies. There is nothing constant. Everything dies except change. Do not resist change. Change introduces you to a current of transformation and transmutation that allows the Spirit to fertilize you.

Change is transmuting force. Do not fear chaos, it is the matrix of change. Do not fear evil, nor the shadow, for they are revealers of light. Do not fear the night, because without it you could not recognize the infinite suns that inhabit it. When we accept the transformations and transmutations in life, when we do not resist changing, we can ascend in the sap of evolution, flourish and bear our fruit.

When we recognize ourselves, we find the insurance crisis of change. Living is a process of permanent change. When we have a crisis, life forks and is not the same again. Our identity is not fundamental, we are not a foundation. We are the significant thing: language, dream and hope. We are not this body, but through it we can ascend.

The body is an instrument of being and being is that process of permanent change that pushes us into a process of continuous learning. To live is to light an inner fire, it is to convert knowledge into wisdom that allows us to develop in a process of permanent change.

This body is not what we believe, it is a structure that is on the edge of chaos. First we branch out. We come from a single trunk, but one day life forks. When did your life never be the same again? This is a crucial point, where you crucify and die to be born to a new dimension.

In the present we can always learn from the past. We can change history by learning the lessons. There are two types of human beings: the apprentices and the victims. You can choose one way or another. You can choose to stop being a victim of your beliefs. Remember that they can also be daggers or cancer, they can be fatal.

You end up becoming what you think of yourself. You create the universe in which you believe. If you think you are guilty you will punish yourself in a thousand ways. If you think you're not worthy, you're going to get sick too. You could, however, look to the past, with eyes of present, presence and love, not to stay in the pain of your past, but to learn the lesson you stopped learning.

All the lessons learned help you enjoy the Presence that lives in your present. We can relive problems from consciousness and not from guilt or conditioning. We recover the fullness of consciousness and thus release the fruit of the lesson. It changed the story. History is not dates, but reading codes that we must learn.

The problem is not what happened to us, the problem is how we live what happened to us. If we could leave the victim's role, we could solve those crucial aspects that remain frozen in us.

If these points of death do not live from the attitude of the victim, rebirth occurs. We can be reborn. The past has passed and now enjoy that starting point towards the happiness that constitutes peace. We discover peace not externally, but at the bottom of being.

History is not what happened, but the reading you make of it. If you don't let things happen, they are still reflected in your physiology, in your relationships, in your life., Disturbing your happiness.

Chaos returns us sensitivity. The woman is more sensitive. In pregnancy, an embryo represents a chaotic developmental vertex. You could enjoy infinitely more joy and not feel pain with another sensibility. Poets also live in a more chaotic vortex. Although we do not realize and when there is a planetary conjunction, a full moon and sunspots., We all become a bit chaotic. When I do not resolve, I enter into that chaotic vertex, this will have an impact on others, to the point that we can enter a state of violence.

Sensitivity can free us or kill us. We have two ways to approach it. From the position of the victim and then it becomes crocodile tears, in sensitization and we are predisposed to manipulation. Manipulation is the ground of unconsciousness. That is not a true human relationship, for there is possession, blackmail.

In the field of sensitivity we are all victims. That this territory of sensitization and emotional blackmail is over and we assume our responsibility! When life hurts, we are waking up. We don't need so many pain relievers. Suddenly we need a bigger pain to know what we were. Suddenly someone needs to see the face of death to verify the value of his life, his wife, his son. We may have to see ourselves in the bed of our son who has a leukemia, to see what a disease is, which not only has to do with white blood cells, but also has to See with the way we communicate. That not only has to do with an ionizing radiation, but with our aggressiveness, with our heartbreak. There is nothing more radioactive than the emotions contained, retained and repressed.

One day our life hurts and life tells us that it is also with us and brings us a pain that is an alarm clock. One day we see the proximity of death and she teaches us the most beautiful lessons of life.

A pain makes us sensitive, it softens us. All ripe fruit is soft. Love ceases to be a hard and dominant and almost perfect love and becomes tenderness, then you are born again. Sensitivity makes us tender. The old men become tender and tell stories to the grandchildren. They start the way back, the way back is tenderness.

In the midst of all chaos we are reborn. In chaos there is a vortex of infinite sensitivity that allows us to transform ourselves. Chaos allows us to emerge and with happiness comes happiness too.

Creating is a birth. If in that ordering potential within you, you discover that seed and take advantage of the turbulence of chaos to develop an unprecedented process of change, then you can emerge. To emerge is to be born again. The state of emergency is a state of intense alertness, a state of genuine presence, a state of ecstasy. It is a state in which even with all the disturbances you find yourself. Paradoxically in the eye of the hurricane there is infinite peace and you acquire infinite potential.

The problem is not what happens outside. The problem is what happens within you, when you are within yourself, all your transforming potential develops. It's possible. even with all the turbulence. Keep your serenity. Serenity is the deep peace of being, it is the unmovable peace of being, which allows you to address the processes of change without resisting it.

Here is the third way to happiness: don't resist change. Take the opportunity of each crisis. Use your infinite sensitivity. Take advantage of the opportunities that life offers you to access a new potential. Take advantage of the fork when life is not the same again. Take advantage of the seeds that life sows in your heart, when life hurts you deeply. Take advantage of the chaos birth to be born to a higher order and thus recreate and reinvent your life, and thus discover a new identity.

The fourth way to happiness is responsibility. Responsibility is a humanized sensibility. We cannot ask a dog for a dog, but we can ask a human being. Responsibility is a sensitivity converted into the ability to respond. Your evolution is determined by your degree of responsibility.

What do you respond to? Do you answer for your actions, do you answer for yourself? Do you respond to the pain of others? Responsibility is an essential condition of love. Love without responsibility is the most dangerous thing in this world. In the name of love we have committed the greatest barbarities.

Responsibility makes love a true response to happiness. To respond in human terms is to recognize the need. Love is recognizing the essential of the other and turning to meet that need from our own sensibility. Responsibility allows us to communicate and correspond. Love takes us to a wonderful universe of correspondences.

You begin to free yourself when you are able to respond to the brother, the friend, the wife, the son; when you are able to accompany and die in the other and with the other. All true love arises from friendship and all genuine friendship is reciprocity, it is a path that goes in two directions. Where there is reciprocity there is resonance, where there is correspondence there are correct human relationships. That is the most wonderful lesson we came to learn: correct human relationships. In this we are all apprentices.

We came to learn to relate. We did not come to learn to be engineers or lawyers. Those are instruments for relating. Man is a relational being and we came fundamentally to learn respectful, responsible, liberating human relationships. They are not social relationships to retain us, to possess us, to blackmail us. They are to free us, to complete us.

Thus we transform the ecology of the Earth, which is not an external ecology. What happens to Earth is what is happening to the heart of man. If I open my heart, I open the earth inside me. If I love my son, I love the earth, the landscape and the atmosphere. And if I love with a pure love I will not contaminate myself. Resentment is the pollutant.

Liberating love exists in responsible reciprocity. To love is to give and receive. There is more wisdom in knowing how to receive. We often refuse to receive the gift of the smile, the look of the other, for not compromising, for not being in debt. We need infinite debts of love as a way to happiness. Gratitude is that ability that reveals your own light.

The fifth and final path to happiness is simplicity. The beautiful, the good, the true is simple. Only simple is integral, only what is integral leads us to unity. Simplicity is transparency, clarity, humility, honesty. It allows us to get off the pedestal and enter the stream of people.

Conquering the code of simplicity in your life leads you to be happy. It is not about being the giant of your dreams, nor the dwarf of your complexes, but about entering the flow of people and feeling one with all of them. Conquering the code of simplicity in your life is a condition to be happy, because you have no expectation, because that way you are happy with everything and in spite of everything. That happiness makes you enter into communion with your humanity. In that communion we realize that we are the voice of the Creator, that at the same time we are co-creators, called to recreate the creation.

We are here to connect to the great chain of life, to that great chain of cosmic intelligence, river of consciousness. We are mediators between the lower and upper realms of nature.

When we are simple we are like her, the Beloved and the Beloved in us is the Soul. When we are simple we reflect the Soul, not for eternal life, but for here and now live and direct. We are a simple temple of wisdom where the Soul officiates. The Soul officiates the ritual of love that allows us to enter into communion. Not only to communicate, but to merge through the center, from heart to heart and thus enter into that current of evolution that passes through us to free ourselves.
