Attention is the ability to fix the senses and mental processes in a particular stimulus during a given interval of time. Attention is an essential skill for many human tasks, among others, it is the key to learning.

Lack of attention

Many children seem unable to maintain attention for too long. What happens to them? Why don't you pay attention?

The answer to this question is found in stimuli, their characteristics and how they can alter human capacity and abilities.

Nowadays boys and girls are subjected to a lot of stimuli, many more than in other times.

Modern stimuli are very attractive, with so many attractive stimuli, the senses and mental processes are pushed to look at everyone. This is what is known as overstimulation, too many attractive stimuli that are impossible to attend to all. As a consequence, boys and girls move from one stimulus to another without just attending to them, they try to capture everything, but they do not fix their attention on any.

How can we train the attention span of boys and girls

Search and use the moment of the day when your attention is maximum, so you can take advantage of its full potential to train your attention span.

Start with activities that are of your interest, in this way you will get this more predisposed to attend.

Eliminate possible distractions, for this remove all stimuli that may be attractive to the child.

Help yourself with auditory stimuli, which are usually very effective in attracting attention.

Organize time to pay attention .
