  • 2018

The Archangel Metatron is an archangel who received from God the right to sit on the throne of heaven, according to the Book of Enoch, one of the oldest books of Judaism that is still preserved in some of the codices of the bible.

It is believed that Metatr n means the one who shares the throne, the one who sits behind the throne of God or the one who keeps . This is an angel that has an important place in mystical Judaism, for he was the scribe of the people of Israel.

He is considered an enlightening angel, guardian of the Akashic records, chief of the angels of death and the angel patron of children, who led them on Earth and also in heaven.

History of the Arc ngel Metatr n in religious texts

Enoch, great-grandfather of No, is a character from the bible who visits Heaven in his visions . In one of them, he intercedes before God in favor of the fallen angels. In another vision, he recognizes the cherubs in the sky and describes them as beings of fire.

In his heavenly visions, Enoch travels to the tree of wisdom and at the end of his visions becomes Metatron, one of the most powerful archangels, also known as The little Yahweh.

In both the bible and the torah, Enoch is mentioned as a prophet who was taken to heaven without dying (Genesis 5: 23-24). However, the texts of the Book of Enoch belonging to the Merkavah tradition were excluded from both religions (Christianity and Judaism). Nonetheless, the Arcâ € ™ Angel Metatr n is mentioned in the Talmud and played a very important role in medieval mystical Judaism.

Who is the Archangel Metatron?

In the book of Enoch, Metatron himself wrote that Jehovah called him "the lesser Jehovah." The narrator of this book, Rabbi Ishmael, describes this archangel as the being who transformed Enoch and the primordial angel .

In the rabbinical tradition, Metatron is the highest of all angels, is the celestial scribe and is related to the divine presence on Earth.

The main text associated with Kabbalah, the Zohar Bereshit, says that at the time Enoch was on Earth, he wrote a book that contained the secrets of wisdom . And when he was taken to heaven, God allowed him to continue with his ministry and thus became a scribe. The Talmud mentions that God allowed him to sit in his presence in gratitude for his work.

In the Zohar, Metatron is described as " the king of angels " who reigns over the tree of good and evil, but is also called "the Younger, " which could mean "servant." There he is recognized as the angel who led the people of Israel to the exodus and also says that all the supernatural secrets were placed in his hands so that in his judgment he would place them in the hands of those who deserved them.

The Archangel Metatron is recognized as:

  • Illuminating Angel : directs the ascension of the body of light of the human being.
  • Keeper of the Akashic records : help the human being to perfect his soul by exploring these records that contain everything that happened from the beginning to the end of his incarnations.
  • Chief of the angels of death : supervises Gabriel and Samael when they work as angels of death and help souls make the transition from the physical to the spiritual plane.
  • The patron angel of children : The Archangel Metatron is the angel who led the people of Israel in the exodus to the Promised Land, that is why it guides children on Earth and in heaven. Parents can ask for your help in educating their children in the development of their spirituality and psychic abilities.
