LETTER IV

EMPLOYMENT OF THE SACRED WORD IN THE MEDITATION

1. Fundamental postulates.

2. Creative effect of the Holy Word.

3. Destroying effect of the Holy Word.

4. Pronunciation and employment of the Holy Word.

5. Effect of the Holy Word on the centers and each of the bodies.

June 19, 1920.

The issue we are going to discuss today is so profound and of such vital importance that it can logically discourage your consideration. No matter what we can say on the subject, we will only touch it superficially and what remains without saying will be so much that the data imparted will constitute a small proportion.

Fundamental postulates.

First of all, I wish to establish certain basic postulates, which, although admitted as mental concepts, may still be too deep to be easily understood.

These postulates are five - which have been extracted from an incredibly vast amount, which will be impossible for them to conceive. They are based on certain fundamental facts (seven in total), which have not been fully understood either. HPB tried three of them by exposing the fundamentals of The Secret Doctrine. Four others remain still hidden, although the fourth is emerging from the study of psychology and mental science. The other three fundamentals will emerge during the next three rounds. During the current round the fourth foundation will be understood.

The aforementioned postulates are the following:

1. Everything that exists is based on sound or the Word.

2. Differentiation is the result of sound.

3. The Word has a different effect on each plane.

4. According to the note of the Word or the vibration of the sound, this will be the work of construction or molding.

5. The triple Words have seven keys, and they have their own subtones.

In capturing these basic facts a lot of light is hidden over the use of the Word in Meditation.

In the great original enunciation of the Sacred Word (the three original Breaths, with their seven sounds - one breath for each of the three solar systems) the note was different and the sounds were sung in different keys.

In the first system, the First Breath was completed, the culmination was the issuance in a majestic note, the FA note - basic note of the current system and of the manifested nature. This note is, and the second note must be added for this second system, which has not been fully stated or completed, and will only be at the end of the major cycle. The Logos is issuing it now and if it stopped exhaling, the entire system would disappear in the dark, marking the end of the manifestation.

In the second system, the current one, the keynote cannot be revealed. It is one of the secrets of the sixth initiation and should not be disclosed.

In the third system, the third and final note will be added to the basic notes of the first and second systems, and then what will we have? We will have the third major of the Logoic Personality, in all its fullness, an analogy of the third major of the microcosm - a note for each plane. It is said that the Solar Logos works on the cosmic planes to solve the problem of the cosmic mind, which acts in His physical solar system, and is polarized in His astral body, or cosmic emotional, and that the cosmic mind is developing. As happens in the solar system planes the same happens in the microcosm. In the understanding of this analogy and its intelligent application is the illumination regarding the use of the Sacred Word in meditation.

The first system ... corresponds to the physical body.

The second system …… corresponds to the emotional body.

The third system… corresponds to the mental body.

The study of the Word or Sound, in the formation of the three systems, will help to understand its use in the construction of the intuitive vehicle and in the purification of the personality.

Now we will divide into four parts what I have to say, and I will treat each one separately:

1. The creative effect of the Holy Word.

2. The destructive effect of the Holy Word.

3. Your pronunciation and employment

to. in individual meditation,

b. in group and group work,

C. for certain specific purposes.

4. Its effect on bodies and centers and its effectiveness in achieving egoic alignment.

The double effect of the Sacred Word, constructive and destructive.

We will continue with the topic we considered yesterday. We have divided the topic into four parts and we will deal with the first two, the creative and destructive effect of the Word. It will only be possible to give few general indications, which allow establishing a basis for the intelligent application of the law.

First of all I will repeat the known truth that worlds are the effect of sound. First life, then matter; then matter is attracted to life for its manifestation and expression and the orderly configuration of that matter in the necessary forms. The sound constitutes the cohesive factor, the propellant impulse and the attractive medium. Sound, in a hidden and deeply metaphysical sense, means what we call "the relationship between", being the creative intermediary, the third binding factor in the process of manifestation, the akasha. In the higher planes it is the agent of that Great Entity that wields the cosmic law of gravity, in its relationship with our solar system while in the lower planes it manifests as astral light, being the great reflecting agent that fixes and perpetuates, in its vibrant sine, the past, the present and the future, or what we call Time. In direct relation with the lower vehicle it manifests as electricity, prana and magnetic fluid. Perhaps they get a clearer and simpler idea, if they consider sound as an agent of the law of attraction and repulsion.

The seven great breaths.

The Logos, in its sevenfold fullness, when enunciating it the Sacred Word to create the current solar system, gathered, by inspiring, the matter necessary for the manifestation, beginning with the first great Breath the evolution of that matter,

With the second great Breath differentiation was established and the second logoic aspect was implanted.

With the third great Breath the activity aspect was manifested; matter was impregnated with this faculty and the fivefold evolution became a possibility.

With the fourth Great Breath some of the Hierarchies responded, and the great Builders saw the plan more clearly. There is a definite relationship between the fourth great Breath and the Fourth Creative Hierarchy, that is, the Hierarchy of Human Spirits. This fourth note of the Logos has a special significance for the human Spirit and produces a unique effect on this earth and in this fourth cycle. Its relativity is such that it would be difficult for them to understand its effect. It is manifested, as far as they can catch it, in the harmonic note of the fourth plane and ray. This note currently matches the peoples of the world and has done so since the fourth root race. It is demonstrated in humanity's effort to understand the ideal of harmony and peace and in the global aspiration to achieve it.

This fourth breath is especially applicable to human evolution. Therefore we have to:

The first subtone of the triple wordsradio the first vibratory note and initiated the movement of the spheres, solar or atomic. Personify the Will.

The second subtone of the triple Word implanted the second aspect, and brought the cosmic ruler of the synthetic ray to the manifestation. He pointed to duality or love reflection.

The third subtone of the triple Word made our fivefold evolution possible. It is the basic note of the five lower planes. It marked the activity or adaptability.

The fourth subtone of the triple Word is the sound of the human Hierarchy and could be called the "cry of man."

Each of the sounds directly brought a ray to the manifestation, with all that it contains. Each sound manifests itself particularly in a plane, being the dominant note of that plane.

The fifth great Breath has its own peculiar effect, because in its reverberation it contains the key to everything - it is the Breath of Fire. It created a vibration similar to that of the cosmic mental plane and is closely related to the first Breath. It is the dominant note (in musical technical terms) of the solar system, the same as the third Breath corresponds to the third major. This is the Logos note. Each breath attracts to the Logos some entity that is at the cosmic levels to manifest itself. The analogy of the method can be seen in the microcosm, when the Ego enunciates the egoic note in the three worlds and prepares to manifest or come to the incarnation. Lanota attracts around the permanent atoms or nuclei, the appropriate matter for the purpose of its manifestation, being in turn animated by some vital entity. Similarly, the Cosmic Lords of Fire, the great Entities that shape our solar system, respond when this fifth subtone is emitted. Also the Lords of the Flame, within the solar system, responded when the microcosm enunciated the fifth subtone of the monadic note and became involved in human evolution.

The sixth great Breath attracted the Lords of the mysterious Pentacle, the volatile essences of the emotional plane, the faculty of desire covered with matter, the watery aspect of the logoic life.

Upon the issuance of the seventh subtonation, crystallization and absolute compliance with the law of approach took place, resulting in the dense aspect of the manifestation, the deepest point of the experience. Consequently, they will observe in this respect their relationship with the Ray of the Ceremonial Law, one of the great constructive rays - lightning that molds matter, according to established formulas, so that they adopt the desired forms.

You may wonder: Why have I apparently turned away from the subject? Do you think I've nicknamed myself and I'm off the subject? I will clarify. The microcosm just has to repeat the work of the macrocosm. The Spirit or Monad, on its own plane, issues the note (the hierarchical note) and descends to the incarnation. Dichanota is both attraction and exhalation. The personality - reflection of the mnadade at the densest point of evolution - is linked to the madda by the attractive force of the Sacred Word, emitted by its mnead, your note and your subtone.

But the exhalation task has already been accomplished. That is involvement. The progressive task of inhaling or reabsorbing at the source continues. When the Personality finds for itself (after many lives of effort and search) its spiritual note, with the correct key and subtone, what is the result? It agrees with the monedic note, vibrates to the same rhythm and also with the same color, finally finding the line of least resistance, and the life that animates it is released and returns to its own plane . But this discovery is very lense, and man must seek the chord with infinite patience and care. First, discover what the third note of personality is and issue it; The result is a harmonic life in the three worlds. Then he finds the fifth dominant of the Ego, the key note of the chord, and issues it in unison with the note of the Personality. The result is that a vacuum is formed if I can express it that way - and the liberated man and the soul that animates him (the triple spirit plus the mind and experience), the Three, completed with the Quaternary and the Fifth, ascends to the M nada. This law of attraction is demonstrated by sound. The unit of sound, color and rhythm attracts the similar and analogous.

This leads to the second of the factors we are considering, the destructive one. With emancipation comes the breaking of the chains, and with liberation the abolition of the old forms; when matter is mastered, the liberation of the spirit occurs. Therefore, by issuing the Sacred Word in its sevenfold sense, the spirit escapes the disintegrated forms; firstly in exhalation the attraction of matter occurs, then, in inhalation, the gradual destruction of material forms occurs, which are abandoned.

Meditation and the Word.

So far I have presented the issue from the point of view of the system. Now I will apply it to meditation and we will see its result. When man meditates, he tries to do two things:

to. The construction of ideas, by lowering abstract ideas and intuitions to the concrete levels of the mental plane. This is what can be called meditation with seed.

b. The alignment of the ego and the creation of a vacuum between the physical brain and the ego, which results in the divine influx, the consequent destruction of the forms and the subsequent liberation. n. This can be called: meditation without seed.

In a certain period of evolution both merge into one, the seed is dispensed with, then the vacuum is created, not so much between the upper and lower vehicles, but between them and the intuitive or harmonious plane.

Therefore, by issuing the Sacred Word in meditation, man must be able (if it is emitted correctly) to perform creative work and destructive work, as does the Logos. This will be a reflection of the cosmic process in the microcosm. It will attract your body more refined matter and expel the grossest. It will create mental forms that will attract more refined matter and reject those of lower vibration. You must issue the Word so that the alignment occurs automatically, and the necessary void created will result in an influx from above. All these effects can occur when the Word is correctly sung, so that in each meditation man must be more aligned, disperse some matter of low vibration from one or the other of his bodies, widen the channel and thus provide a more suitable vehicle for Receive lighting from higher levels.

But, until he can do it correctly, the effect produced by the issuance of the Word is very insignificant, fortunately for the one who uses it. Stressing the seven great breaths and their effect on each plane, the student will discover much of what can happen in the different sub-planes of each plane, especially in relation to their own development. By studying the basic note of the solar system (which stabilized in the first system) much will be discovered about the use of the Word in the physical plane. This indication is worth considering. In the effort to find the note of this solar system, that of love and wisdom, the student will establish the necessary communication between the emotional or desire plane, and the intuitive one, and discover the secret of the emotional plane. When the Word is studied in the mental planes and the effect it produces when constructing forms, the key to erect Solomon's Temple will be discovered and the student will develop the faculties of the causal body and will finally be free from the three worlds. However, you must remember that you must first find the note of your personality and then the egoic one, before you can sing the monadic chord. Once he has done this, he will have pronounced his own triple Word, and will be an intelligent creator animated by love. Then you will have reached the goal.

Some practical indications.

This afternoon I would like to clarify that it is not possible, prudent or adequate, to give them the different keys in which the Sacred Word can be sung; I can only tell you the general principles. Each human being and each unit of consciousness is so different from the others, that the individual need can only be satisfied when the instructor has fully developed the causal consciousness, and the student has reached a point where he is willing to “know, dare and shut up. " The dangers of the misuse of the Word are so great that we only dare to give basic ideas and fundamental principles, leaving the aspirant to develop the essential points of his own development, practice the necessary experiments and discover, for himself., what you need. Only what is obtained by one's own effort, in hard struggle and bitter experience, is of permanent and lasting value. Only when the disciple - by virtue of his failures, his successes, his victories, hardly obtained, and the bitter hours that follow the defeat - adjusts to the internal conditions, will the use of the Word be of scientific and experimental value. His lack of will defends him, in large part, from the misuse of the Word, while his efforts to love lead him, in time, to sing it correctly. Only what we know for ourselves becomes an inherent faculty. The statements of an instructor, however wise, are nothing more than mental concepts, until they are experimentally part of the life of man. That is why I can only point the way and give general indications, the rest must be discovered by the one who studies meditation.

Pronunciation and use of the Word in individual meditation.

Now I will be more practical. I will speak for the man who is on the path of probation, who can therefore intellectually grasp what must be done and roughly understands the place he occupies in evolution and the work to be done, if he aspires to someday cross the portal of the Initiation. Consequently, what I will say will teach most of those who study these letters ... The student who undertakes the meditation will try to conform to the established rules. I will give some preliminary indications:

The applicant must retire daily to a quiet place, where he is covered by interference and interruptions. If possible, he will do it every day in the same place, because in this way he will build a kind of shell around him that will serve as protection, establishing high contacts more easily. The matter of that place, that is, the matter of the surrounding space, will be tuned to a certain vibration (man's own vibration, achieved in consecutive meditations), which will make it easier for him to start with a higher vibration, thus eliminating the Long preliminary tuning process.

The applicant will adopt a position in which he can become unconscious of his physical body. There is no fixed rule for this, because it must be borne in mind that the physical body may be impeded and hardened or crippled. You have to look for a comfortable posture, plus an alert and attentive attitude. Laziness and laxity do not lead to anything. The most appropriate posture for most is to sit on the floor with your legs crossed, leaning on something that supports the spine. In the moments of more intense meditation and when the aspirant is very practical and their centers are waking up quickly (perhaps already with the internal fire throbbing at the base of the spine), the back should remain upright, without support. The head should not lean back, in order to avoid tension, but be straight or with the chin slightly down. If this is done, the stiffness, characteristic of many, will disappear and the lower vehicle will be relaxed. The eyes should be closed and the hands crossed on the legs. Then, the applicant will observe if his breathing is regular, constant and uniform. Then relax the whole body, keeping the positive mind and the physical vehicle compliant and obedient.

Then he will try to visualize the three bodies and after having decided whether the meditation will be done in the head or in the heart (later I will deal with this point), then he will retract his consciousness there and focus on any of the centers. In doing so he must deliberately consider that he is a Son of God who returns to the Father; that it is God Himself who seeks His conscience; a creator who tries to create; the inferior aspect of the Deity, which tries to align with the superior. Then he will sing the Holy Word three times, emitting it gently the first time, thus affecting the mental vehicle; stronger the second time, stabilizing the emotional vehicle, and even stronger the third and last time, acting on the physical vehicle. The effect on the three bodies will be triple. If it is toned correctly, keeping the center of consciousness firm in any of the centers chosen, the effects will be as follows:

On the mental levels:

to. Establish contact with the coronary center, making it vibrate. So quiet the lower mind.

b. Link with the Ego to a greater or lesser degree, but always, to a certain extent, by means of the permanent atom.

C. Eject coarse matter particles and build more refined ones.

On the emotional levels:

to. Definitely stabilize the emotional body through the permanent atom, establishing contact with the heart center and activating it.

b. Eject raw material, making the emotional or desire body colorless, so that it reflects more accurately the superior.

C. Originate sudden urn influx of feelings, from the atomic levels of the emotional plane to the intuitive, through the atomic channel that exists between the two. This influx will rush up and clear the canal.

On the physical planes:

to. The effect will be very similar, but it will be felt mainly in the etheric body, stimulating the divine influx.

b. It will go beyond the periphery of the body and create a shell that will serve as protection. It will reject the discordant factors that may exist in the immediate environment.

June 22, 1920.

The logoic chord and the analogy.

We will continue now studying the use of the Holy Word in its group application and for certain specific purposes. We have briefly studied how the individual who begins to meditate uses the Word, whose effect consists mainly of purification, stabilization and centralization. This is all that can be achieved until the student reaches the stage where he is allowed to issue the note in one of the selfish subtones. In the egoic note we have the same sequence as in the logoic note. What was this? A sevenfold chord whose important points, in our current stage of development, are:

  1. The basic note.

2. The third major.

3. The dominant or fifth.

4. The seventh final.

Here I can give an indication according to the analogue. There is an intimate relationship between the fifth or dominant note, and the fifth principle, Manas or Mind, and for this solar system (although not for the first or third) there is an interesting response between the fifth plane of the mind and the dominant one, and between the sixth level of emotions and the third major. In this respect, from some points of view, the emotional vehicle constitutes a third vehicle for consciousness, counting the dense physique and the vehicle of prana or electrical vitality, as two units. Nothing else can I say, because everything changes and interpenetrates; but here I have given much subject to reflect.

In the egoic note, as I said earlier, we have a similar sequence, since it is on its own plane a reflection of the Logos. Therefore we have the basic note of the physicist, the third of the emotional, the fifth of the causal levels. Once man dominates the key and has found his own subtonation, then he intones the Sacred Word with accuracy and reaches the desired end. Their alignment will be perfect, their bodies will be pure, the channel will be free of obstructions and it will be possible to reach higher inspiration. This is the purpose of true meditation, which can be achieved through the correct use of the Holy Word. Meanwhile, because there is no Instructor and the student's defects, the only thing possible is to sing the Word as best you can knowing that there is no danger when there is sincerity of purpose, it could Being able to obtain certain results, such as protection, quieting and correction.

Group employment of the Word.

The effect of the Word used in group form intensifies, provided that the groups are constituted correctly; but it is canceled and neutralized if the group contains undesirable elements. Consequently, it is necessary to check certain things before a group can use the Word properly:

to. It is convenient that the group is formed by individuals of the same ray or of a complementary ray.

b. It is desirable that the Word be sung in the same tone or at least harmonically. If so, the vibratory effect is powerful and certain reactions will occur.

What, therefore, are the results, when the Word is correctly sung by a group of duly merged individuals?

to. A strong current is established that reaches the disciple, or the Teacher responsible for the group, allowing the group to harmonize with the Brotherhood and clear the channel to transmit the teaching.

b. A vacuum is created, something similar to that which must exist between the Ego and the Personality, but in this case between the group and those who act from the internal aspect,

C. It also results, if the conditions are correct, the link with the egoic groups of the personalities involved, a stimulation of the causal bodies and the connection between the three groups - the lower, the upper and the Brotherhood - to form a destined triangle to the transmission of force.

d. It has a definite effect on the physical vehicles of the lower group, and intensifies the vibration of the emotional bodies, expelling the opposite vibrations and harmonizing them with the upper rhythm. This results in balance, stimulates the lower mind, but at the same time creates a bond with the higher mind that, when penetrating, stabilizes the lower concrete mind.

and. It attracts the attention of certain devas or angels, who work with the bodies of men, allowing them to perform that work more accurately and establish contacts that will later be useful.

F. Creates a protective wrap around the group, which (transiently) protects it from any disturbance, allowing the components of the group to work more easily in accordance with the Law, and helps the Internal Instructors to find the line of least resistance between They themselves and those who seek His instruction.

g. Help in the work of evolution. However helpful this is, every effort that contributes to the free action of the law, which acts in any way on the subject for greater refinement, that stimulates vibration and facilitates contact between the superior and the inferior, is an instrument in Logos hands for the acceleration of His plan.

I have briefly described here some of the incidental effects of chanting the Word in unison. Further, as the rules of occult meditation are understood and applied experimentally, such effects will be studied. As the breed develops clairvoyance, these effects can be classified and tested. The geometric shapes created by the individual and by the group, when singing the Word, can then be recorded and observed. The elimination of individuals in some groups and their assignment to more appropriate others will be carried out by judicious consideration of the work they have done. Later, as individuals develop higher consciousness, the custodians of the groups should be chosen - not only for their spiritual fulfillment and intellectual capacity, but for their ability to see internally - and thus help the members and the group to form and develop the right plans.

Groups for specific purposes.

Later groups will be formed for specific purposes, which brings me to the third point, the use of the Word to achieve certain objectives.

I will enumerate some of the ends that the groups must pursue when they are formed, and through the use of the Sacred Word, together with true occult meditation, achieve certain results. The time has not yet come for it; therefore it is unnecessary to describe them in detail; However, if things progress as desired, you will see them develop in your lives. This will form groups:

1. Destined to work on the emotional body, in order to develop, subjugate and purify it.

2. In order to develop the mind, strengthen balance and establish contact with the higher mind.

3. Dedicated to the healing of the physical body.

4. With the purpose of aligning and clearing the channel between the upper and the lower.

5. For the treatment of obsession and mental illness.

  1. La base de la columna vertebral.
  2. The solar plexus

3. El bazo.

4. El coraz n.

5. La garganta.

6. La gl ndula pineal.

to. El rayo del Espíritu o Mónada.

d. El especial tipo de trabajo a realizar.

and.

2. Centro plexo solar. Diez pétalos. Color rosado con mezcla de verde.

3. Centro cardíaco. Doce pétalos. Color oro resplandeciente.

4. Centro laríngeo. Dieciséis pétalos. Color azul plateado, predominando el azul.

5. Los centros de la cabeza son dos:

to.

to.

2. Letters on Occult Meditation

The science of meditation as a mental training technique, is practiced more and more everywhere. Meditation is related to flowing energy, whose impersonal and fiery natures; its potential danger should therefore be understood and eluded, and the practices adopted should be safe and reliable. This book exposes the basic, general and specific factors, showing the fundamental objective of the science of meditation: world service.
