equiemocion “There is one word that was recorded: herd. I think I am the opposite, by history or by my own will. I find it hard to group and run away from groups of more than two people and lately, also from these. Yesterday, however, at certain times, I felt part of a pack when sitting in the group, we got the horses to calm down and even one of them was about to add to our pack. Perhaps, in the end, it will turn out that being part of certain herds is not all bad. ”

Carles, the author of this email, participated in one of the courses that Equiemoción organizes periodically, with the purpose of improving personal skills and abilities, through contact with horses.

These are sessions based on self-knowledge, where through a series of exercises with horses, participants can experience their own style of natural leadership, forms of communication, how they work and collaborate in teams, relaxation and stress management and many other skills of emotional intelligence The courses last one or several days and take place in a natural environment.

“We believe that, as (Mahatma) Gandhi said, one of the ways to change the world is to change oneself and what better way to do it, than in the midst of nature and learning from it and animals, in this case, the horses, ”says Anna Alvarez, one of the creators of the project.

And he adds: “We are convinced that the relationship of people with horses and in general with all kinds of animals can help develop positive aspects and values, both for the benefit of some and for others. We must not forget that we are part of a whole. The human being, formerly, lived connected with the balance of nature and therefore with his own balance. We need to regain that balance. ”

The courses are aimed at individuals, trainers, professionals, business teams and in the coming months, Equiemoción will launch a workshop aimed at young people so they can “find and experience the values and tools necessary to better manage their lives” from early .

As Alvarez has commented to Positive News, more than 400 people have gone through the experience. I remember a host of interesting anecdotes, from a manager with a phobia diagnosed to the horses who attended a session to be tested and who ended up hugging an infinitely happy horse; even a teacher who found, through the horses, a better way of relating to her son when she got home.
