"Mental Diet" is a brief publication of Emmet Fox, simple and practical. Published in 1935, it follows the concepts of what we now call "Law of Attraction . " Fox suggests that just like the food we eat forms our body, the thoughts we think shape our mood and determine our health, finances, relationships, prosperity.

He proposes to his readers, to make a mental diet, not harboring negative thoughts for seven days. He warns us that it requires a much greater effort than doing a physical diet.

Mental diet

The goal of the mental diet is not to have a single negative thought for seven days.

Decide to spend seven days observing your thoughts . Think about it a couple of days and then start.

You have seven weeks to complete this task . If you leave the diet, you must wait a day (24 hours) to start over.

What is a negative thought

Negative thinking is when you have your mind in thoughts of frustration, disappointment, when you think about problems, criticism, envy, or hate and anger, or any thought of illness or accident . In short, any pessimistic or limiting thought.

It can take you seven whole weeks, achieve seven consecutive days without negative thoughts, without judging or speaking badly about someone or something.

The negativity in the environment

If you hear a negative comment from other people, social networks, e-mail or television, simply discard it and do not fit your mind, do not think about it.

During the mental diet do not fear negative thoughts, do not give them any power . Any negative situation you have to face will not affect your diet, as long as you do not stay to live in it.

When someone speaks to you in a negative way, let him speak, but do not accept what he is saying . Remember that it is your choice to allow someone to affect you and your mental state.

Day 1 and following

The first day when you wake up think it will be a great day! No matter what happens around you, do not let negative thoughts remain in you, even for a moment.

External conditions

You should not change the external conditions, although not seeing the news during this week can help!

Like every time you start a diet, the mind betrays us and we crave things we can't eat. In this diet, your mind will be tempted to think of old negative thoughts, complaints, gossip, or talk about someone or something .

It may be that, as you can tempt a chocolate cake, you will be tempted to complain, for example. If this happens, you should rest a day or two and then start again from scratch.

Negativity appears

Everything in the universe is made of energy. When you start to stir the energy in your life, especially the positive one, some negative energy may appear .
