David Lynch and transcendental meditation

  • 2013

The filmmaker David Lynch was in Madrid last week to spread the Transcendental Meditation among unemployed young Spaniards. Here are several links about the conference he offered and how the topic was addressed in two media.

A sample published in El País. Lynch said :

The full potential is enlightenment. It is the right of every human being to enjoy this full awareness. With meditation you go deeper, the garbage goes away. Illumination is when the unconscious ceases to exist because everything is conscious, that is why in comics it is a ball of light. It is a very important asset. ” He recalled that there are many forms of meditation, following a question by Pedro Almodóvar about yoga and awareness of the present. “I experienced many forms of meditation until reaching the transcendental, the key that opens the door to pure consciousness. They can do it until children of ten years ... I repeat the mantra of the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. In four days you learn in hour and a half classes, and with 20 minutes in the morning and 20 in the afternoon it is worth it for a lifetime. Of course, I can't teach you, just a prepared teacher. ”

Another sample of El Confidencial :

Lynch recalls, drawing an explanatory chart, how science has managed to explain the material world almost completely, but how only meditation allows access to the mind. It is a world in which intelligence, creativity, love and peace live, and where there is no negativity "that is everywhere": stress, fear and rage are extinguished after beginning to penetrate the me and "soon you will be putting your boss's hand on your shoulder and inviting him to coffee."
