Tale of the craftsman and the poor girl, for the kids

  • 2012

Once upon a time there was a craftsman who worked from sun to sun to be able to support his family. He barely left his worktable moved by the sincere interest he printed in his work and by the love he felt for his people, who lived on his low salary. Nor did he have much time to devote himself and to be able to share it with his own and he could not afford to feel the morning breeze slipping on his face, as he was always locked in his craft workshop.

However, instead of lamenting his situation, he blesses every minute that he could get excited with each of the beautiful pieces he sculpted and then sold. to be able to keep his own. He loved his children and his lovely wife, who always served him a hot plate at every meal and dedicated the best of his smiles. He never reproached him for anything and neither did his children. And although there were few hours he could give them, he felt grateful for every moment that life gave him along with them because the family warmth gave him unique confidence and security.

-In truth, my best work is the family that I created the artisan was repeated every day.

During his exhausting day, he looked out the tiny window when the sun rose at dawn and when it set.

- What will it be like to feel its rays outdoors, in freedom? He wondered and kept working and working.

One day a poor girl with a disheveled appearance knocked on the door of the humble little house where the family lived and the artisan opened the door:

-Could you give me some coins? He asked the craftsman. No, he replied. We barely have to survive, but stay for lunch.

-Of course nodded pleased his wife. So the little girl entered and what was the family's surprise when she discovered her beautiful face, bathed in light.

It was the face of a fairy!

- I am that light that you look from sun to sun, the light of your dreams and your willpower, the light of the illusion that you print in each moment. That light of humility and gratitude that you see at sunrise and sunset and that instead of complaining, you learn to recognize the sublime of each moment: something that escapes others ...

"I dreamed of you the other night ..." the craftsman muttered.

-Yes -the fairy told him-, it was my warning and I have come to look for you and your family to take you to the Enchanted Forest, the one in which the sustenance that yours needs appears naturally every day, like the breeze of the Tomorrow and the sunlight, which you so much want to feel ... That breeze and that light of your dreams, those that you so wisely and patiently know how to create and share with humility and kindness: this is my magic for you.
