Conversations with God: Why can't I do what I really want and at the same time make a living?

  • 2015

12 Why can't I do what I really want and at the same time make a living?

That? You mean you really want to have a good time in life, and at the same time earn enough to live? Boy, you are dreaming!

How…?

Just kidding! I was responding as a narrow mind would. But notice that that has been your thought about it.

That has been my experience.

Yes. Well, we've talked about this several times. The people who make a living doing what they like are the people who strive to achieve it. They do not give up. They never yield. They challenge life if they don't let them do what they like.

But there is another element that should be mentioned here, because it is an element that is absent in the reasoning of most people when they begin their working life.

Which?

There is a difference between being and doing, and most people give more importance to the latter.

And shouldn't it?

It is not a matter of whether "should" or "should not." It's a matter of what you choose, and how you can get it. If you choose peace, joy and love, you will not get much through what you do. If you choose happiness and contentment, little of that will be achieved by doing. If you choose the union with God, a supreme knowledge, a deep wisdom, a compassion without limits, a total conscience, a full realization, little of that you will achieve as a result of what you do.

In other words, if you choose evolution - the evolution of your soul -, you will not get it through the mundane activities of your body.

Doing is a function of the body. Being is a function of the soul. The body is always doing something. Every minute of every day has something in hand. He never stops, never rests; He is constantly doing something.

Either he does what he does at the command of the soul, or he does it in spite of the soul. The quality of your life depends on what prevails in this balance.

The soul is always being. It is being what is being independent of what the body does, not as a result of what the body does.

If you think that your life is based on doing, you don't understand what it is about.

Your soul doesn't care what you do for a living (and when your life ends, you won't mind what you've done, either). Your soul only cares what you are while doing what you do for a living.

What the soul seeks is the state of being; Not the state of doing.

What does the soul want to be?

I.

T ?

Yes, me. Your soul is Me, and it knows it. What he does is try to experience it. And what he remembers is that the best way to have this experience is not doing something. That has nothing to do with being.

With what?

Anything you want to be. Happy. Sad. Weak. Strong. Cheerful. Vengeful. Perceptive. Blind. Good. Bad. Male. Female. What you want.

I say it literally what you want.

All this is very deep, but what does it have to do with my occupation? I try to find a way to stay alive, to survive, to keep myself and my family, doing what I would like to do.

Try to be what you would like to be.

What do you mean?

Some people earn lots of money doing what they do; others just win, and do the same. Where is the difference?

Some people have more capacity than others.

That is a first aspect; But let's go to the second one. Imagine two people with relatively equal abilities. Both graduated from the university, both were the number one of their promotion, both know the essentials of their work, both know how to use their instruments with great ease; However, one does better than the other, one thrives while the other continues to fight. What is the reason?

To the situation.

To the situation?

Someone once told me that when you start a new business, you only have to consider three things: the situation, the situation and the situation.

In other words: not what are you going to do?, but where are you going to be?

Exactly.

That also sounds like my answer to your question. The soul only worries where you will be.

Are you going to be in a place called fear, or in a place called love? Where are you - and where do you come from - when do you encounter life?

Now, in the example of the two equally skilled workers, one is successful and the other is not, not because of what either of them does, but because of what they both are.

One person is open, friendly, careful, helpful, considerate, lively, confident, and also happy with their work, while the other is closed, distant, careless, inconsiderate, grumpy, and resentful of doing what they do.

What if you chose the highest states of being? What if you chose goodness, mercy, compassion, knowledge, forgiveness, love? What would happen if you chose holiness? What would your experience be then?

I assure:

Being attracts being, and produces experience.

You are not on this planet to produce something with your soul. Your body is, simply and simply, the instrument of your soul. Your mind is the force that makes the body work. So what you have is a powerful tool used in the creation of the soul's desire.

What is the desire of the soul?

That same !: which one?

I do not know. I'm asking you.

I do not know. I'm asking you.

We can continue like this indefinitely.

Yes.

Just a moment! Not long ago you said that the soul aspires to be You.

So is.

So that is the desire of the soul.

In a broad sense, yes. But that I who aspires to be is very complex, has multiple dimensions, multiple senses, multiple facets. There are a million aspects of Me. A billion. A trillion. You know? It includes the profane and the deepest, the smallest and the greatest, the most empty and the most sacred, the most horrible and the most pious, you know?

Yes, yes, I know ... the top and bottom, the left and the right, the here and there, the before and after, the good and the bad ...

Precisely. I am the Alpha and the Omega. That was not just a pretty phrase, or an elegant concept. It was a truth expressed.

So, in aspiring to be Me, the soul faces a great task; A huge menu of possibilities to be from which to choose. And that is what he is doing right now.

Choosing states of being.

Yes; and then producing the appropriate and perfect conditions to create the experience of it. It is therefore true that everything that happens to you, or what happens through your mediation, is for the sake of a higher good.

You mean that my soul is creating all my experience, including not only what I do, but also everything that happens to me?

Let's say your soul provides you with the appropriate and perfect opportunities for you to experience exactly what you have planned to experience. What you really experience is up to you. It may be what you planned to experience, or it might be something else, depending on what you have chosen.

Why would I choose something I did not want to experience?

I do not know. Why would you do it?

Do you mean that sometimes the soul desires one thing, and the body or the mind desires another?

What do you think?

But how does the body, or the mind, impose themselves on the soul? Doesn't the soul always get what it wants?

Your spirit aspires, in the broadest sense, to the great moment in which you have full awareness of your desires, and come together in joyful unity with them. But the spirit will never ever impose its desire on the present, conscious, physical part of you.

The Father will not impose His will on the Son. Doing so would be a violation of His own nature, and, consequently, is literally impossible.

The Son will not impose His will on the Holy Spirit. To do that would be to go against its own nature, and, consequently, it is literally impossible.

The Holy Spirit will not impose His will on your soul. Doing that is not part of the nature of the spirit, and, consequently, is something literally impossible.

This is where the impossibilities end. The mind very often tries to exert its will on the body, and it succeeds. Similarly, the body tries very often to control the mind, and often successfully.

However, the body and the mind together have nothing to do when it comes to controlling the soul, since the soul is totally free of need (unlike the body and mind, which are chained to it) and, by that, let the body and mind always do what they want.

On the other hand, there would be no other possible path for the soul; since, if the entity that you are is to create - and, consequently, know - who it really is, it must do so by an act of conscious volition, not by an act of unconscious obedience.

Obedience is not creation; therefore, it can never produce salvation.

Obedience is an answer, while creation is a pure decision, not required, not necessary.

The pure decision produces salvation through the pure creation of the highest idea at that time.

The function of the soul is to indicate its desire, not to impose it.

The function of the mind is to decide between different alternatives.

The function of the body is to carry out that decision.

When the body, mind and soul create together, in unity and harmony, God becomes flesh.

That is when the soul knows itself in its own experience.

That is when the heavens are filled with joy.

Right now, in this moment, your soul has created you again an opportunity to be, do and have what it takes to know Who You Really Are.

Your soul has led you to the words you are reading at the moment, just as before it had led you to words of truth and wisdom.

What will you do now? What will you decide to be?

Your soul waits, and observes with interest, as it has done many other times.

If I understand correctly, do you say that my worldly success (I keep trying to talk about my occupation) will be determined by the state of being that I choose?

I am not worried about your worldly success; only you.

It is true that, when you reach certain states of being for a prolonged period of time, it is very difficult to avoid success in what you are doing in the world. But you shouldn't worry about "earning a living." The true Masters are those who have chosen to earn a living, instead of earning a living.

From certain states of being, a life so rich, so full, so magnificent and so valuable will spring up that worldly goods and success will stop worrying you.

The irony of life is that, as worldly goods and success stop worrying, they begin to flow towards you.

Remember that you cannot have what you want, but you can experience what you have.

Can't I have what I want?

Do not.

You already told me before, very early in our dialogue. However, I do not understand. I thought you told me I could have anything I wanted. "As you think, as you think, so it will be given to you, " and all that.

The two statements do not contradict each other.

Do not? Well, I think so.

That is because you lack understanding.

I admit it. That's why I'm talking to you.

I will explain it to you. You can't have anything you want. The very act of wanting something removes that something from you, as I said in the first chapter.

Well, you might already say it, but I'm missing out at times.

Try to follow me. I will review it again in more detail. Let's go back to a point that you do understand: thought is creative. Okay?

Agree.

The word is creative. Okay?

Okay.

The action is creative. Thought, word and deed are the three levels of creation. Do you follow me?

Perfectly.

All right. Now let's go to the topic of worldly success, which is what you were talking about and what you were asking me.

Magnetic!

So, do you have the thought: Do I want worldly success?

Yes, sometimes.

And sometimes you also have the thought: I want more money ?

Yes

Then, you cannot have worldly success or more money.

Why not?

Because the universe can do nothing but produce the direct manifestation of your thinking.

Your thought is: I want worldly success . You have to understand that creative power is like a genius in a bottle. Your words are orders for him. Do you understand?

So why don't I have more success?

I have already told you: because your words are orders for him. Your words are: I want to succeed . And the universe responds: `` Okay. ''

I am not sure to follow you.

Look at it this way. The word yo is the key that starts the creation engine. The words I want are extremely powerful. They are affirmations to the universe. Orders.

Now, anything that follows the word yo (which makes the great I Am arise) tends to manifest itself in physical reality.

Therefore, "I" + "I want success" produces that you want success. "I" + "I want money" necessarily produces that you want money. And it cannot produce anything else, since thoughts and words are creators. So are the acts. And if you act in a way that affirms that you want success and money, then your thoughts, words and deeds agree, and you can be sure that you will have the experience of this "want."

You see it?

Yes! OMG! Does it really work like this?

And so much! You are an extremely powerful creator. Now, I grant you that if you had a thought, or made an affirmation, only once - for example, in a moment of anger or frustration -, you are not likely to turn such thoughts or words into reality. So, you shouldn't worry about saying "Die!" Or "Go to hell!" Or all the other unpleasant things you sometimes say or think.

Thank God!

You're welcome. However, if you repeat a thought, or say a word, again and again - not once or twice, but dozens, hundreds, thousands of times -, you have no idea of its creative power.

A thought or word expressed and re-expressed becomes just that: expressed. That is, in something externalized. It becomes something done externally. It becomes your physical reality.

It doesn't bother you!

That is exactly what it very often produces: annoyance. You love the annoyance, sorrow, drama; that is, as long as you do nothing else. There will be a certain moment in your evolution in which you will stop loving the drama, you will stop loving the "history" that you have lived so far. That is when you will decide - you will actively choose - change it. Only most don't know how to do it; And you now know. To change your reality, just stop thinking like you do.

In this case, instead of thinking: "I want success, " think: "I succeed."

It seems to me to lie to myself. It would make fun of myself to say that. My mind would shout at me: "Don't say idiocy!"

Then, think of a thought you can accept: "Now I will succeed, " or "I am getting closer to success."

So that's the trick of affirmation techniques that use certain New Age currents ...

Affirmations do not work if they are nothing more than statements of something you want to be true. Affirmations only work when they are statements of something that you already know is true.

The best "affirmation" is a declaration of gratitude and recognition. "Thank you, Lord, for giving me success in my life." Now, that idea, thought, said and realized, produces wonderful results when it comes from authentic knowledge; not of an attempt to produce results, but of the awareness that the results have already been produced.

Jesus had it very clear. Before each miracle, He thanked me in advance of his accomplishment. It never occurred to him not to be grateful, since it never occurred to him that what He declared did not happen. His mind never harbored that thought.

He was so sure of who he was and of his relationship with me that every thought, word or work of his reflected his consciousness; in the same way that your thoughts, words and deeds reflect yours ...

So, if there is something you decide to experience in your life, don't "want" it ; decide it

Do you decide to succeed in worldly terms? Do you decide to have more money? All right. Then, decide it. Really. Fully. With conviction.

However, you should not be surprised if at a certain stage of your development "worldly success" stops worrying you.

What is that supposed to mean?

There comes a time in the evolution of every soul in which the main concern is no longer survival or the physical body, but the development of the spirit; no longer the achievement of worldly success, but the realization of the Self.

In a sense, it is a very dangerous moment, particularly at the beginning, since the entity that is housed in the body now knows that it is just that: a being in a body; Not a corporeal being.

At this stage, before the developing entity matures this point of view, there is often a feeling of absolute disregard for the affairs of the body. So excited is the soul with the being finally "discovered"!

The mind leaves the body, and all matters of the body. Everyone is ignored. Relationships are abandoned. The families disappear. Jobs go to the background. Invoices remain payable. The body itself is left without feeding for long periods. The whole center of attention of the entity moves to the soul, and the affairs of the soul.

This can lead to an important personal crisis in the daily life of being, although the mind does not perceive any trauma. Live suspended in happiness. The others tell you that you have lost your mind; And in a sense it is true.

The discovery of the truth that life has nothing to do with the body can create an imbalance towards the other extreme. While before the entity acted as if the body were all there is, now it acts as if the body does not matter at all. This, of course, is not true; something that the entity will soon remember (sometimes painfully).

You are beings constituted by three parts: body, mind and spirit. You will always be beings constituted by three parts, and not only while living on Earth.

There are those who hypothesize that, when they die, the body and the mind are abandoned. But the body and the mind are not abandoned. The body changes shape, leaving behind its densest part, but always retaining its outer envelope. The mind (not to be confused with the brain) also goes with one, joining with the spirit and the body in the same mass of energy, three dimensions or facets.

If you decide to return to this opportunity to experience what is called life on Earth, your divine self will again separate its true dimensions into what you call body, mind and spirit. Actually, the same and only energy, but with three different characteristics.

When you begin to inhabit a new physical body here on Earth, your ethereal body (as some of you have called it) reduces its vibrations, which go from being so fast that you can't even see it, at an adequate speed to produce the mass and matter This real matter is the creation of pure thought: the work of your mind, the highest mental aspect of your being constituted of three parts.

This matter is the coagulation of a million billion trillions of different units of energy in a huge mass, controllable by the mind ... You really have a superior mind!

When all those tiny units have expanded their energy, they are discarded by the body, while the mind creates new ones. This is created by the mind from its continuous thinking about Who You Are! The ethereal body "catches" thought, so to speak, and reduces the vibration of more units of energy (in a sense, it "crystallizes"), which become matter; the new matter that constitutes you. In this way, every cell in your body changes every several years. In a totally literal sense, you are not the same person you were five years ago.

If you think thoughts of discomfort or illness (or continuing anger, hatred and negativity), your body will translate those thoughts into a physical form. People will see this form negative and sickly, and say, "What's up?" You will not know how successful it is.

The soul contemplates the representation of all this drama, year after year, month after month, day after day, moment by moment, and is always in possession of the Truth about you. He never forgets the project; the original plan; the first idea; creative thinking. Your task is to make you remember, to remember once again Who You Are, and then decide Who You Want to Be now.

Thus, the cycle of creation and experience, imagination and realization, knowledge and evolution towards the unknown continues, now and forever and ever.

Wow

Exactly. And there is still much to explain! Much more! But they don't fit in a book, nor probably in a life. However, you have started and that is good. Remember only this. As your great teacher William Shakespeare said: There are more things in Heaven and on Earth, Horacio, than your philosophy has dreamed of.

Can I ask you some questions about that? For example: when you say that the mind accompanies me after death, does that mean that my personality accompanies me? Will he know in the next life who he was?

Yes and who you have always been. Everything will become clear to you, since then you will take advantage of what you know, while not now.

And with respect to this life, will there be an account to be counted, will there be an exam?

There is no judgment in what you call the other life. You can't even judge yourself (since you would surely give yourself a very low score, given how critical and severe you are with yourself in this life).

No, it is not necessary to pay accounts, nor thumbs up or thumbs down . Only humans judge, and, since you do, you suppose that I do. But I do not do it; and this is a great truth that you cannot accept.

However, although in the next life there will be no judgment, there will be an opportunity to consider everything you have thought, said or done here, and to decide if that is what you will choose again based on who you say you are, and who you want to be.

There is an oriental mystical teaching based on a doctrine called Kama Loca; According to this doctrine, at the time of death each person is given the opportunity to relive all the thoughts he has embraced, all the words he has spoken, all the acts he has performed, not from our point of view, but from the point of view of each of the people affected in each case. In other words, we have already experienced what we feel when we think, say or do what we think, say or do; but now we are granted the experience of feeling what the other person felt in each of those moments. And it is based on this measure that we will decide whether we would think, say or do the same thing again. What do you think?

What happens in your life when it ends is too extraordinary to be able to describe here in terms you can understand, since it is an experience that is in another dimension, and literally exceeds any description that you intend to use tools as enormously limited as words. Suffice it to say that you will have the opportunity to examine your present life, without pain or fear of any judgment, with the purpose of deciding what you feel about your experience and where you want to go to from there.

Many of you will decide to return here; return to this world of density and relativity, to have another possibility to experience the decisions and options that they have made regarding themselves at this level.

Others some chosen will return with a different mission. Density and matter will return with the spiritual purpose of leading others out of density and matter. On Earth there are always those who, among you, have made this decision. They are recognized immediately. Your homework is over; They have returned to Earth simply and plainly to help others. This is your joy. This is his exaltation. Do not aspire to anything other than to be useful.

You can't stop seeing them. They are everywhere. There are more than you think. You may even know of someone, or that you know him personally.

Am I one of them?

No. If you have to ask, you know that you are not. One of them does not ask questions of this kind. There is nothing to ask.

Your son, in this life you are a messenger. A precursor A news carrier. A seeker and often a speaker of Truth. You must be happy, because this is more than enough for a life.

I'm happy, but I can always wait for more!

And you will wait more! You will always wait for more. Be part of your nature. It is part of the divine nature to always aspire to be more.

So do it: aspire by all means to be more.

Now I want to definitely answer the question with which you started this part of our conversation.

Go ahead, and do what you really like! Do not do anything else! You have very little time. How can you think of wasting a single moment doing something you don't like for a living? What kind of life would that be? More than earning a living, it would be winning you death!

If you say: "But ... there are other people who depend on me ... mouths to feed ... a wife who has me", I will answer that, if you insist that your life is based on what your body does, you have not understood to what have you come here At least, do something that pleases you, that manifests Who You Are.

With this you can move away from you resentment and anger towards those who imagine that deprive you of your joy.

It is not that what your body does is not important. But not the way you believe. The actions of the body are reflections of a state of being; no attempts to reach a state of being.

In the true order of things something is not done to be happy, but one is happy and, consequently, something is done. Something is not done to be compassionate, but one is compassionate and, consequently, acts in a certain way. In a person of high consciousness, the soul's decision precedes the action of the body. Only an unconscious person tries to produce a state of the soul through what the body does.

This is what the statement means: "Your life is not based on what your body does." However, it is true that what your body does is a reflection of what your life is based on.

Here is another divine dichotomy.

But if you don't understand it, at least understand this:

You have the right to your own joy. Have or do not have children; whether or not you have a wife Look it up! Find her! And you will have a cheerful family, regardless of how much money you earn or stop earning. But if, instead, they leave you, then let them depart with love in search of their own joy.

Yes, on the other hand, you have evolved to the point that the affairs of the body have stopped worrying, you will be even freer to seek your own joy, both on Earth and in Heaven. God says it is good to be happy; Even be happy in your work.

Your work in life is an affirmation of Who You Are. And if it isn't, then why do you do it?

Do you think you have to do it?

You do not have to do anything.

If “the man who supports his family, whatever it takes, even at the cost of his own happiness” is Who You Are, then he loves your work, since it facilitates your creation of a living affirmation of your Self.

If “the woman who performs a job she detests to face the responsibilities she considers she has” is Who You Are, then love, love, love your work, since it fully supports your image of your Self, your concept of your Self .

Everyone can love everything he does from the moment he understands what he is doing, and why.

No one does anything they don't want to do.
