Paths and changes "by Hugo Betancur

By Hugo Betancur Life is a progressive, moving process, where we participate in actions and relationships that involve us in situations of duality. At one extreme, we are immersed in crises, conflicts, difficulties; At another extreme, we enjoy reward periods where joy and overflowing laughter are present along with some sense of peace and spontaneous optimism. We have heard that life is not a path but a journey. However, in our attribute of travelers who move through the geography of the planet and human scenarios, we imagine traveling eventual paths . These paths can be rugged and monotonous if we get used to the known, the routine, what does not seem to have significant or notable changes and where we settle for relationships and results as established by the characters we represent-: all predictable according to the repetition, so easy to describe as a mechanical gear with its wheels that rotate fitting its pinions and driven by external forces. Or they can be luminous and variable, with their full energy filling our mind and our heart in passing and showing us exultant and affable, driven by our own strengths and motivations. Sometimes, we attend to the warning signs that life puts in our wake, and we can understand the dynamics of the conflicts to be resolved: they announce that it is appropriate and cannot make changes. For each of us there is then a bifurcation of roads: one remains the one we have traveled and the other the path we can take as an option for these possible changes. We cannot follow both paths at the same time because they are different. Now it is up to us to choose. If we decide on the positive path, we move through the space that represents actions and modifications to discover our feelings of well-being; that it is not associated with burdens or blame or reproach or fear; We can travel with pleasure. We can experience joy as we go along that path; We can feel a warm and gentle breeze caressing our skin. The other way we can call it negative: we feel bad going through it, as overloaded passersby, slow and fatigued, and also hopeless, with our heads down and refusing to see the colors and sounds of the landscape. Which path do we choose? Everything we choose corresponds to its qualities. Life is always change. What does not change can be called stagnation, attachment, limitation, a desolate field where there are only vestiges of life left ˆ the flight of a lonely bird, the noise of the wind on the foliage, the silence of voices and steps, the muted light of winter filling us of pessimism and affliction. Meanwhile, the day is running out and it is impossible for us to reconstruct the moments of life that we have already accomplished: the actors have left and the props have been removed from the scenarios we have used before. Now the environments have been redecorated so that other actors recite their lines and we can only attend there as spectators who contemplate shows similar to those we already experience. * Hugo Betancur * (Colombia) Source: http://hugobetancur.blogspot.com/
