The English neurologist, Oliver Sacks, says that although autism is seen as a medical condition, it should also be considered as a complete way of being, a profoundly different form of identity.

If you are parents of autistic children, repeat the way of life of your children, no matter what they do or stop doing. Tell them whenever you love them.

Here are some tips that we find in Catherine Maurice's Behavioural Intervention for young children with autism, a manual for parents and professionals of autistic children:

1- Nothing better than living day after day, positively . You cannot control the future, but you can control today and now.

2- Never underestimate your child's potential. Motivate him. Offer space, encouragement, and always expect him to fully develop his abilities . Do not forget that your child has the capacity to learn, no matter how small.

3- Seek positive support . Family and professionals with whom to share experiences, advice and encouragement.

4 - Provide and offer your child a good educational and learning environment, from the beginning of his childhood.

5- Consider and do not neglect the feelings and needs of your partner and your other children . Remember that the autistic child will not have more love from you for the fact that you waste more time with him.

6- As for your decisions and attitudes, answer your conscience first . Then to your son. You do not need to justify your actions to friends or other people.

7- Be honest with your feelings. You cannot be a super mother or a super father 24 hours a day . Allow yourself to be wrong, frustrate, sadden, whenever necessary. It is inevitable for everyone.

8- Be good, generous and gentle with yourself. Don't just look at what you still have to do. You must look back and see what you have already achieved .

9- Occasionally here to feel the smell of roses. Give value to how much you have achieved in life even if it seems normal to you.

10- Keep and never lose your sense of humor . Re r is one of the best ways to avoid stress and discouragement.
